The transcendence of consciousness is the third. The transcendence of no-thingness, with consciousness entering the sky, is the fourth. Thus, all of these are attained through transcendence of these objects, not through transcendence of the limbs. All of them depend on equanimity and one-pointedness of mind, therefore their limbs are two. Just as the four cloths of water and equal width from coarse, fine, extremely fine, and very fine doga (a type of cloth), although there is no difference in size, the former is superior to the latter, and the latter is superior to the latter, due to the nature of being devoid of the touch of pleasure and greatness. Similarly, although there is no difference in these, due to the difference in meditation, the former is superior to the latter because of the nature of fineness and peace being close to the object, and it should be known that it is extremely superior and most extremely superior. The remaining part of liberation is explained as the complete realization of all aspects as explained. The nine successive abidings are called the four dhyanas, the formless attainments, and the cessation attainment. The ten kasinas are: earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, white, these are the eight kasinas, and the kasina of consciousness and the kasina of space. Among them, the kasina of earth is when a yogi who has become accustomed to meditation, who has gained mastery, has transcended dhyana and samadhi, and enters into samadhi with a slight residue of obscuration, because of gross conceptualization, sees the fault called 'weakening of the limbs.' Because of focusing on the peaceful nature of the second dhyana, in order to realize that second dhyana, one takes up the absence of desire for the first, and when individually analyzing the limbs of dhyana, the grossness of mere conceptualization, such as the path, abides near peace. At that time, in order to abandon the limbs of grossness, and repeatedly focusing on the sign that is earth, one establishes the kasina of earth. Similarly, one should view the other nine, such as the kasina of water, in the same way. The previously cultivated habit and the stream

From ponds and lakes, water arises entirely without contrivance; similarly, from the tips of smoke from forest fires, fire arises entirely. Wind abides in light dust blown by the wind and the leaves of trees, and it utterly destroys them, from which wind arises entirely. From blue flowers, jewels, and silks laid out, it is entirely blue. Likewise, from yellow, red, and white, it is entirely yellow, etc.; from paint, silver, and the lunar disc, it is entirely white. From moonlight entering through a window, the ground illuminated by sunlight, the collection of light appearing on the side of a wall, and the light appearing from the gaps in the collection of tree leaves, and observing the moonlight moved by the wind, it is entirely the arising of consciousness. From holes inside windows, holes in walls, and gaps, space arises entirely. For a beginner who has not practiced meditation, such yoga will not arise, therefore, the distinction of complete practice should be understood. Therefore, one should fill a vessel such as a bowl dripping from a clean cloth, which is separate from colors such as blue, with water, place it in a very good place, sit comfortably, and begin to focus the mind, this is the complete practice of water. Furthermore, one should cut oily wood into pieces, place it under a tree or on an unparalleled platform, ignite it like a bowl smeared with paint, create a hole one span high or four fingers wide, place a leather or reed mat in front of it, sit comfortably, and focus the mind on the mounds of earth and trees below, with the tips of smoke above, and in the center, grasp the characteristic of a dense accumulation of burning flames, this is the complete practice of fire. One should make a hole in a wall, or even if there is none, hollow out the inside of a window with a hole, approach it, and direct one's attention to whichever part of the body feels the touch of the wind, this is the complete practice of wind. Blue lotuses or trees such as the Kinigara, etc.
