Thus it was said. In the treatise on the instructions of the Perfection of Wisdom, the Ornament for Clear Realization, is the explanation of the aspects of instructions and subsequent teachings. The Explanation Corresponding to the Part of Ascertainment Those corresponding to the part of ascertainment should be stated. Furthermore, what is there to be stated about these? It is to be stated that there are four distinctions that are superior to the Hearers and so forth, namely, the distinction of the object, the distinction of the aspect, the distinction of the cause, and the distinction of the complete holding. The application with conceptualization should also be stated, namely, regarding the four conceptualizations of the grasped and the grasper that are to be abandoned by the path of seeing, which will be explained below, how many conceptualizations should be established in this corresponding part of ascertainment? For this, the distinctions of small, medium, and large should be stated individually. Because: By the object and the aspect, By the cause and the complete holding, The wise Bodhisattva's, The nature of heat and so forth, as it is. The four conceptualizations are complete and dependent, Small and medium and large, Superior to Hearers and Solitary Realizers, And those with learning. These two verses are made to be stated closely, because they are endowed with the generation of the mind, the instructions, and the application of subsequent teachings, and because hearing and thinking these obtain the distinction of going forth, from the nature of cultivating the root of virtue corresponding to the part of liberation, the root of virtue corresponding to the part of ascertainment called heat arises. Because it is similar to heat, it is heat, because it is the antecedent cause of the arising of the fire of non-conceptual wisdom. It surpasses the Hearers and so forth by four distinctions, namely, the distinction of the object is that it focuses on the aspects of the four noble truths, such as impermanence. The distinction of the aspect is that it is the aspect of not being attached to the aspects of the truths of suffering and origin. Not being attached to cultivating the aspects of suffering and origin for the various aggregates such as form, craving for the conforming dharma is increasing.

It is so. It is shown that not being attached to emptiness and wishlessness in themselves is faultless. This sutra is: Shariputra, endowed with life! For this Bodhisattva Mahasattva, if he is attached to the fact that form is impermanent, abides and knows it completely, that form is suffering, is empty, that form is selfless, is attached, abides and knows it completely, thus form is empty, and wishless, attached, abiding and knowing completely, and so on, Shariputra, endowed with life! For this Bodhisattva, attachment to the Dharma that is in accordance with it is a fault, and so on. This is a brief explanation of the difference between the object and the aspect of the realization of the truth of suffering. The difference between the object and the aspect of the realization of the truth of the origin is as stated in the sutra: Thus, this form should be abandoned, attachment, etc., is what is said. Among them, the truths of suffering and origin are aimed at impermanence, etc., and the aspects are made by non-attachment, etc. If you ask what to say? The Hearers, etc., are attached to the nature of form, etc., and it turns into the aspect of impermanence, etc., because it is not the antidote to the view of self. Bodhisattvas, etc., also focus on the nature of impermanence, etc., and turn into the aspect of non-attachment, etc., because it is the antidote to the view of Dharma. Here, too, the absence of characteristics is not mentioned, because it is intended to show the two truths, and it is made the leader of the aspect of entry, because the absence of characteristics is the aspect of the cessation and the path of the Great Vehicle. Having done so, in what is the absence of characteristics, and in what is the removal of the characteristics of discrimination, the aspect of peace is also, whatever is said, is the leader of the path of the Hearers who make things and connections, so there is no contradiction between that and this. Whatever is said about non-attachment, etc., is examined here.
