What is the forbearance of knowing the Dharma in cessation? It is said to be the attainment of the irreversible stage. The sutra here speaks of attaining the irreversible stage. It should be understood that this is the eighth stage of a Bodhisattva, who abides in the nature of spontaneous accomplishment without characteristics. Furthermore, by making the forbearance of cessation the basis, it is shown that: "Well done, well done, son of good family! This is forbearance towards the ultimate truth, and one will be able to realize the Buddhas' teachings." What is the knowledge of Dharma in cessation? It means that after perfecting direct perception, one will worship all the Buddhas, be born in those realms, and listen to the Dharma taught by them. The sutra here says: "After perfecting direct perception, one will also go from Buddha-field to Buddha-field, serving and honoring the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, etc." What is the subsequent knowledge forbearance in cessation? It means that the aggregates, elements, sense bases, six elements, and individual limbs of dependent origination are not Bodhisattvas, nor are they a collection. They are not something other than those. The Bodhisattva does not come from them, and the Bodhisattva is not in them. Their nature is also not a Bodhisattva. Saying this means that they are preventing those from being the nature of the Bodhisattva, and wanting to prevent it with other names. The sutra here is: "Subhuti, what do you think? What is called a Bodhisattva, is form a Bodhisattva? Or is something other than form a Bodhisattva? Does a Bodhisattva have form? Is there a Bodhisattva in form? Is formlessness a Bodhisattva?" and so on. What is the subsequent knowledge obtained in cessation? It means that the aggregates and so on are not separate, nor are they a collection. The suchness of those is not a Bodhisattva, and other than those is also not a Bodhisattva, nor is it in those. The nature of those is not a Bodhisattva, and sentient beings are extremely unattainable.

Therefore, it should be understood that by negating the suchness of these things as being the nature of a Bodhisattva, negation is done in other ways. The sutra here is: Subhuti, what do you think? Do you think that the suchness of form is a Bodhisattva? Or do you think that there is a Bodhisattva other than the suchness of form? Or do you think that there is a Bodhisattva in the suchness of form? Or do you think that a Bodhisattva has the suchness of form? Or do you think that the suchness of formlessness is a Bodhisattva? And so on. Which shows the patience of knowing the Dharma on the path, that is, from the aggregates of form, etc., each of the terms of permanence, impermanence, happiness, and suffering, to the extent that the terms of aspiration and non-aspiration are extremely difficult to observe, therefore negating the nature of the Bodhisattva. The sutra here is: Subhuti, what do you think? Is the so-called Bodhisattva just a term for the permanence of form? Similarly, are the impermanence of form, the happiness of form, the suffering of form, the self of form, the non-self of form, the peace of form, the non-peace of form, etc., are these terms for a Bodhisattva? And so on. Which shows knowing the Dharma on the path, that is, negating seeing one Dharma realm in another. The sutra here is: Subhuti, Dharma cannot be truly seen following Dharma realm, nor can Dharma realm be truly seen following Dharma. Which shows the subsequent knowing patience on the path, that is, like this, from the form realm and the Dharma realm, the feeling realm and the Dharma realm, to the consciousness realm and the Dharma realm, and then to the mind realm and the Dharma realm. The sutra here is: Subhuti, the form realm cannot be truly seen following the Dharma realm, nor can the Dharma realm be truly seen following the form realm, and so on.

The teaching on where to know is as follows: The realm of the conditioned and the realm of the unconditioned are mutually dependent, with one precluding the other. The sutra for this is: "Rabjor, the realm of the conditioned does not truly see the realm of the unconditioned. The realm of the unconditioned also does not truly see the realm of the conditioned." This clarifies the wisdom of equality because the object and the subject are equal. Teaching from the perspective of the path of meditation: Conditioned and unconditioned cannot be established as being either one or different, because all phenomena are unobservable, and therefore there is no fear. The sutra for this is: "Rabjor, the unconditioned cannot be established as being different from the conditioned. The conditioned also cannot be established as being different from the unconditioned. Thus, Bodhisattvas are not afraid because they do not fixate on any phenomena. They are not afraid in any way." Conditioned is the path, and unconditioned is abandonment. Because these two cannot be established as being either one or different, the establishment of the path of meditation is an imputation, not the characteristic of being directed towards the direct perception of how things are, because there is no difference from things. This is what is being taught. By doing so, the accomplishment of the Prajnaparamita is the aspect of non-fixation, its object is the Four Noble Truths, its basis is the Three Jewels, and especially, the cause of going is non-attachment, the cause of going without turning back is non-weariness, the cause of not going by other vehicles is fully embracing the path, the cause of going without relying on others is the five eyes, the cause of perfecting omniscience is the six superknowledges, and the cause of ultimate accomplishment is the paths of seeing and meditation. It should be understood that all of these are taught in the context of instructions. Therefore, this is the instruction on Prajnaparamita for Bodhisattvas, great beings. This is the subsequent teaching.
