It is called "because it is emptiness of self-nature," and so on. Form, etc., of the past, etc., is emptiness by form, etc., of the past, etc. Why is that? Because emptiness is not perceived in emptiness, it is impossible to perceive form, etc., of the past, etc. By the equality of the three times, from the beginning of the past, etc., to all the perfections, it is not perceived. Why is that? Because by the fact that equality is not perceived in equality, it is impossible to perceive the past, etc., and the perfections. From mindfulness, to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, it should be said in the same way. Similarly, from ordinary beings to the Thus-gone One, the beginning of the past, etc., is not perceived. Why is that? It is called "because sentient beings are imperceptible." Subhuti, this is the great vehicle of the bodhisattva mahasattva, called the equality of the three times. By abiding in this, the bodhisattva mahasattva can overwhelm the world including gods, humans, and asuras, and will surely realize all-knowingness. This is making the intention of realization of the aspect of attainment. World-Honored One, the bodhisattva mahasattvas who appear in the past, future, and present, having learned this great vehicle, have attained, are attaining, and will attain all-knowingness. This is establishing the realization close to attainment. Prajnaparamita is the teaching of the great vehicle, which is the same as and in accordance with the cause of the attainment of realization of all noble beings, and has the meaning of understanding that attainment pervades. In Prajnaparamita, the means of encompassing all dharmas and focusing on them is taught, and it has the meaning of understanding that nothing is not attained. Why is that? Because in the great vehicle, there are perfections, etc., and aggregates such as form, etc., from the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment to the unshared qualities of the Buddha, and those dharmas up to what is called the realm of nirvana.

Everything is neither existent nor non-existent, because it is formless, invisible, and unimpeded. Like this, taking non-characteristic as the characteristic, it is the only characteristic. How is it said that the terms arising from my realization are spoken? In accordance with the Prajnaparamita, the Mahayana is taught, and it is considered that the practice of Prajnaparamita is included in the Mahayana. Therefore, it has the meaning of knowing the attainment of the ultimate. Why is that? Because from the Mahayana and Prajnaparamita, etc., to all dharmas, there is no duality and no possibility of duality. With the terms of attainment, the Mahayana is taught in accordance with it. Therefore, it is said. Among them, the definite arising of attainment should be known as having the nature of negating three things. The negation of the three things is also like this: negating the object to be attained, negating the attainer, and negating the relationship between the two. Venerable Subhuti, why is it said that the great Bodhisattva has no object of focus in the past? And why is it said that because form is all-pervasive and boundless, the Bodhisattva is all-pervasive and boundless? And why is it said that form is Bodhisattva, and there is no such thing? Thus it is said, why is it that if I have not truly seen the Bodhisattva in all ways from all to all, then which Bodhisattva's Prajnaparamita shall I teach and accordingly declare? And why is it said that the name Bodhisattva is only a name? And why is it said, what is the unmanifested form? What is unmanifested is not form? With the unmanifested, shall I teach and accordingly declare the unmanifested Prajnaparamita? Thus it is said that apart from the unmanifested, there is no great Bodhisattva that can be focused on. Why is it said that if it is taught in this way, etc. Thus it is said.

Starting from non-existence, focusing on refuting what is to be obtained. By means of the absence of sentient beings, emptiness, solitude, and absence of inherent existence, in the past, future, and present, the attainment promised by Bodhisattvas is prevented, which is the meaning of understanding that the attainment in the three times is meaningless. Similarly, from the aggregates and so on, to the perfections and so on, the aspects of enlightenment, up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, by means of non-existence, emptiness, solitude, absence of inherent existence, the past, and so on, the attainment promised by Bodhisattvas is prevented. Why is this so? Because in non-existence and so on, the past and so on are not found. Non-existence and so on, and the perfections and so on, are not promised as other terms. As it is said in the sutra: "Emptiness is not other, generosity is not other." And so on. Similarly, samadhi, the doors of dharani, the realm of phenomena, suchness, the ultimate reality, and so on, should also be spoken of in this way. Furthermore, the noble individuals such as the Shravakas, in non-existence and so on, and the past and so on, the attainment promised by Bodhisattvas is prevented. Why is this so? Because starting from non-existence, up to the Buddha, all of these are non-dual, and cannot be made dual, as it is said. What is said by focusing on refuting the obtainer is, starting from "Because form is everywhere boundless," from form and so on, the aggregates and so on, up to the unshared qualities of the Buddha, the past and so on are not found. Why is this so? Because it is emptiness. Starting from "Form, the Bodhisattva," is non-existent and not found, why is this so? Because from form and so on, up to the Tathagata, it is emptiness. Starting from "If all the great Bodhisattvas do not perceive all things in all ways in all places," from form and so on, the aggregates and so on, up to the Buddha's
