The complete dedication of roots of virtue to enlightenment is the armor of the perfection of meditation. Abiding closely in the perception of things as illusory, not fixating on the object of giving, the giver, and the receiver, this is said to be the armor of the perfection of wisdom. As it is said, this is the armor of giving from the practice of armor, the first of the six sets. Likewise, practicing the perfection of discipline in that way is the second. Practicing the perfection of patience is the third. Practicing the perfection of diligence is the fourth. Practicing the perfection of meditation is the fifth. Practicing the perfection of wisdom in that way is the sixth. Thus, these become six sets of six, but because the armor is consistent with the Dharma in six aspects, and consistent with the Dharma in giving and so forth, six practices of armor are explained.

Therefore, it is said that great Bodhisattvas enter the Great Vehicle and will ascend to the Great Vehicle. That is also the same meaning, entering is ascending, and ascending is also entering. Thus, establishing it with one name, it becomes nine aspects, which are as follows: the entering with the samadhi and formless samadhi and possessing it; the entering of the six perfections; the entering of the noble path; the entering of the immeasurable (minds); the entering with no object of focus and possessing it; the entering of the three wheels being completely pure; the entering for a certain purpose; the entering of supernormal knowledge; and the entering of the all-knowingness itself. Therefore, meditation, formlessness, generosity, etc., the path and loving-kindness, etc., having no object and possessing, the three wheels being completely pure, for a specific purpose and the six supernormal knowledges, in the manner of all-knowingness, the practice of entering on the Great Vehicle, know that it is ascending. That is what is said. Among them, the entering with the samadhi and formless samadhi and possessing it is: when the great Bodhisattva practices the perfection of generosity, with the aspect of space, and the characteristics and signs, when entering and arising from the samadhi and formless samadhi, dedicating those roots of virtue completely to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, because it is the Great Vehicle, that is what is said. Saying, "with the aspect of space, and the characteristics and signs," is because holding completely to the path of the aspect of no object of focus, as all phenomena are like space, therefore it is a synonym for no aspect, no characteristic, and no sign. Among them, the aspect is, being separated from desires, being separated from sinful and unwholesome dharmas, that is what is said. The characteristic is, having conceptualization and having examination, and so on. The sign is, the joy and happiness born in a secluded place, and so on. Or, with the difference between lower and higher grounds, coarseness and tranquility, etc., are the aspects. On which ground is there any kind of feeling, that is the characteristic. Tasting the taste of the seclusion of samadhi is the sign. The entering of the six perfections is possessing all-knowingness.

By directing the mind, teaching the Dharma in order to thoroughly eliminate the afflictions of all sentient beings is indeed the Great Vehicle of generosity perfection. Not opening the opportunity for the mind of the Lesser Vehicle is indeed the Great Vehicle of ethical discipline perfection. Thinking that the Dharma is taught in order to exhaust the afflictions of all sentient beings, and having such mental engagement, as well as patience, desire, complete understanding, comprehension, and definitely closely thinking, these are indeed the Great Vehicle of patience perfection. After thoroughly examining it, in order to accomplish the meaning that is held, knowing the conditions that cause it to completely deteriorate is comprehension. Holding that meaning as abiding nearby and establishing the mind without any remainder is mental engagement. Not abandoning that diligence is indeed the Great Vehicle of diligence perfection. Entering into meditative stabilization with a manner of no object for those meditative stabilizations and formless absorptions is indeed the Great Vehicle of meditative stabilization perfection. Individually contemplating the limbs of the first dhyana and so forth with the aspects of impermanence, suffering, selflessness, peace, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness is taught as being the very nature of the Great Vehicle of wisdom perfection. Entering the noble path is the Great Vehicle of the great Bodhisattva, which is what is taught, such as cultivating the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment in all aspects. The term "in all aspects" is encompassed by the three omniscient wisdoms, which is spoken of in terms of the manner of cultivation. Entering the four immeasurables, and again, all aspects of practicing the immeasurables, having patience in all-knowing wisdom is indeed the Great Vehicle of patience perfection. Not mixing with the mind of the Lesser Vehicle is indeed the Great Vehicle of diligence perfection. Tasting the flavor of meditative stabilization is indeed the Great Vehicle of wisdom perfection. Entering meditative stabilization in the four immeasurables.
