And trusting in truth and the Three Jewels, and desire and heartfelt devotion, this is how it arises. Among them, for karma and its results and the two truths, firm faith arises; for the two truths and the Three Jewels, the desire and willingness of heartfelt devotion arise. Here, karma refers to the karma of body, speech, and mind, which are virtuous, non-virtuous, and unwavering. Among them, the non-virtuous karma of body, speech, and mind, arising from complete conditions, is the non-virtuous karma of the three, body, speech, and mind. The result it produces is the result produced by sinful karma, experiencing great suffering in the three evil results. To slander this is to disbelieve in cause and effect. The opposite of this is firm faith, which is said to have the function of being the basis for renunciation. The virtuous karma of body, speech, and mind is the virtuous karma of the three, body, speech, and mind, the opposite of the above. What it produces is the result produced by the virtuous karma of the three, body, speech, and mind, which are the manifest and high results enjoyed in desire, and so on. To slander this is to slander the karma of the three, body, speech, and mind, and its results, which is turning away from the happy realms. The opposite of this is trust, which has the function of being the basis for the arising of diligence. Unwavering karma refers to the unwavering karma of body, speech, and mind, which is a synonym for unwavering maturation. The result it produces is the places of meditation, which are accomplished by those who manifest and practice meditation in the desire realm. If one slanders and says that these do not exist either, it is disbelieving in these, which is turning away from the meditations enjoyed in the realm of form. The opposite of this is believing in these, which, because it manifests the accomplishment of the abodes of Brahma, is the basis for the arising of diligence. There are four truths: suffering, the origin, cessation, and the path. Among them, not believing in suffering and the origin makes samsara manifest and accomplished, becoming the cause of turning away from nirvana. The opposite of this is manifest trust, which has the function of being the basis for renunciation. Cessation
