The guardian mothers reside on various lotuses and the sun, with their right legs extended. The other twenty-four reside on various lotuses and the moon, with their left legs extended. The lord of the family is the constant presence of the Radiant Mother. Those surrounding the east and other directions are Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, and Amoghasiddhi, while those surrounding the fire and other intermediate directions are as desired, according to some. Others say that the white mothers are Vairochana, the black mothers are Akshobhya, the yellow mothers are Ratnasambhava, and the green mothers are Amoghasiddhi.
