To the noble beings, Migmi Zang, Kubira, Brahma, Vishnu, Great Ishvara, all the sons of the gods of the Tushita heaven, Indra, the lord of the gods, the sons of the gods of the thirty-three realms, the son of the gods, Jewel Heart Immaculate, and so on; to the noble, all-entering, radiant, immaculate crown appearance; to the essence of all Tathagatas; to the dharani that observes vows; and to those who rely on it, protecting and helping beings, especially those who hold emblems; and also to those who were previously entrusted by the great assembly, and who individually promised with the eternal voice of the gods, vowing to protect and help the sacred Dharma and the four assemblies; to all the noble Dharma protectors, both worldly and transcendent, I respectfully prostrate. To all those noble assemblies, I offer bathing water, incense and flowers, food and light, music and cymbals, umbrellas and banners, and whatever else is available in reality, as well as all unclaimed divine substances in the ten directions, and all abundant human resources, and the power of dharanis and mantras, and all the clouds of offerings arising from the aspiration prayers of the Excellent Conduct, generated by the power of faith, filling and offering all that is included in the realm of Dharma, which pervades the limits of space. Repeat this three times. May all the noble ones heed my words. I, named so-and-so, from beginningless time, while wandering in samsara, with body, speech, and mind, have committed sinful and unwholesome actions against the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, parents, and other sentient beings, or caused others to commit them, or rejoiced in their commission. Also, I rejoice in all the merits of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, as well as the Pratyekabuddhas and all the noble Shravakas, and all beings without exception. Thus, three times. I, who am called by this name, in order not to cut off the lineage of the Buddha, from this time forth, until I reach the heart of enlightenment, take refuge in the perfectly complete Buddha, the supreme of two-legged beings. I take refuge in the one who possesses great compassion, who is all-knowing, all-seeing, free from all fears, the great being, the supreme leader, whose body is inconceivable, who possesses the supreme Dharma body. I take refuge in the Dharma, the supreme of detachment from desire, the peaceful Dharma body possessed by the unsurpassed Tathagata, which is self-realized by each individual. I take refuge in the Sangha, the supreme of disciplined assemblies, the Sangha of the noble, non-returning Bodhisattvas of the four directions. Thus, three times. From this time onwards, until I attain the essence of enlightenment, in order to liberate all sentient beings, to free all sentient beings, to comfort all sentient beings, to completely liberate all sentient beings from suffering, and to establish all sentient beings in the wisdom of omniscient knowledge, I generate the unsurpassed, perfectly complete and awakened mind. Just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and the Bodhisattvas of the past, who were free from all things, abandoning the five aggregates, the eighteen elements, and the twelve sense bases, as well as the grasper and the grasped, with the equality of the selflessness of all phenomena, the very essence of emptiness, the unborn nature of their own minds, generated the mind of enlightenment, so too, I, who am called by this name, from this time onwards, until I abide in the essence of enlightenment, generate the mind of enlightenment. Just as the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas of the past, having vanquished all the hosts of demons and their retinues, manifested perfect enlightenment, so too, I, who am called by this name, having vanquished all the hosts of demons and their retinues, may I myself manifest perfect enlightenment. Just as the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas of the past, having manifested perfect enlightenment, turned the wheel of Dharma, so too, I, who am called by this name, having manifested perfect enlightenment, may I turn the wheel of Dharma. Just as the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas of the past, having manifested perfect enlightenment, gathered the Sangha, so too, I, who am called by this name, having manifested perfect enlightenment, may I gather the Sangha. I generate the supreme mind of enlightenment. I will treat all sentient beings as guests. I will practice the supreme and desirable conduct of enlightenment. For the benefit of beings, may I attain Buddhahood. Thus, three times. This root of virtue of my generating the mind of enlightenment, and whatever small merit I have done, and whatever I am doing, and whatever I will do.
