Whatever is done will be accomplished. The ninth chapter, on the mandala and protection of the Queen of Mantras, the Cool Grove. If one quickly obtains well-being and freedom from illness, etc., then, having protected oneself with the mandala, etc., one is separated from all suffering, and so are all evil spirits. To become happy and liberated means that one will be happy in this life and the next, and liberated from all the suffering of samsara. Non-humans should not harm them, or they will quickly be harmed, meaning that if these protectors do not help those who hold the mantra, then these protectors will also suffer severe pain from the curse of the mantra. "Venerable Bhagavan" means that the Four Great Kings reported to the Bhagavan. This great Cool Grove Sutra, as such, is great, meaning that in the three thousand great thousand worlds, it makes sentient beings happy and pacifies the suffering of this life and the next. "Venerable Bhagavan, whatever bhikshu or bhikshuni," etc., is the Four Great Kings reporting to the Bhagavan again, also reporting for the benefit of the four assemblies. This great Cool Grove Sutra, if held, whether in a village, city, or town, just by being there, one will be separated from all fears. To hold means to wear it around the neck and offer it respectfully. By the power of this Queen of Mantras, one can be liberated from all suffering, both in this life and in the next. To recite means to read, practice, rejoice, and explain it to others, etc. By doing so, one will also be separated from suffering. To make everything understood means to pervade the benefit of all sentient beings in the three thousand great thousand worlds. Or, wisdom is as vast as the sky, benefiting all sentient beings. Those who practice are the Buddhas of the past, future, and present.

said. The queen of mantras, Cooling Grove, this is said with rejoicing. Those beings are free from all suffering, and so it is in the three times. The faithful yaksha lay devotees, having gone to the four great kings, and mentioning their names, this means that even non-human beings, on the eighth, or nineteenth, or any, or thirtieth, etc. days, the four great kings also do the same, if so, even the cruel yakshas will develop faith. O great kings, this means that for this great Cooling Grove Sutra, if the four great kings also uphold it, they will develop faith, and likewise, they will also attain the true meaning. Bhikshus, etc., up to laywomen, for the fourfold retinue, they will also be protected by this Cooling Grove Sutra. So-and-so, etc., this refers to all sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand world realms. Or, it refers to the person, the sentient being who upholds this. Venerable Bhagavan, this is what the four great kings repeatedly asked the Bhagavan. The faithful yaksha lay devotees, having gone to the king's Willow Grove palace, this means that, as previously stated, according to the teachings of this Cooling Grove Sutra, if those four great kings are offered to, one will be liberated from all diseases. The four great kings in front of Vaishravana, the yakshas gather, and all the bhutas also proclaim in the assembly, this means that in front of the thirty-two powerful yakshas and the twenty-eight great generals, and the eighty thousand classes of obstructors, if this Cooling Grove Sutra is proclaimed, one will be free from all suffering. There, they will be overjoyed, this means that through the blessings of the queen of mantras, Cooling Grove, they will also give help. Venerable Bhagavan, this great Cooling Grove Sutra is so important, this refers to the mundane and supramundane. Attaining the true meaning, men

Even if reborn in other places, one will not be separated from this Dharma. The reason for being called "Venerable, World Honored One" is that the Four Great Kings repeatedly made requests for the benefit of sentient beings. The so-called "bhikshu" and so on refer to the four assemblies, the ten non-virtuous deeds, and the five precepts. The four assemblies are: the Mahasanghika, the Sarvastivada, the Sthavira, and the Mahasangha. The ten non-virtuous deeds are: killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, harsh speech, frivolous talk, divisive speech, greed, malice, and wrong view. The five precepts are: not killing, not stealing, not engaging in sexual misconduct, not lying, and not drinking alcohol. Merely reciting the "Cool Grove Sutra," even if the precepts are deficient, one can be liberated from its sins. The so-called "not drinking alcohol, mindfulness, and having clear awareness" and so on, not drinking alcohol refers to prohibiting the consumption of garlic, meat, and women, etc., which is the doctrine of Kriya. Mindfulness refers to remembering this vidya-mantra, and merely remembering it, one can also be liberated from food poisoning. Having clear awareness refers to knowing the nature of sin, and similarly, one should also know the nature of virtue. Virtue and non-virtue are incompatible, and merely remembering it, one can be liberated. The so-called "five kinds of food are as follows" and so on, are the Four Great Kings asking the World Honored One. The so-called "Please completely abandon brown sugar, honey, sesame, meat, and fish meat" and so on, is saying that these are the food of beings. These are also foods that will become sinful, brown sugar is the food of insects, honey is the food of bees, sesame is the food of living beings, meat is the food that becomes sinful by killing, and fish meat is the same. Therefore, the World Honored One said to completely abandon these five kinds of food. The so-called "Why cling to this" is because these five kinds of food will become sinful. The so-called "Venerable, World Honored One" is what the Four Great Kings called out in order to ask for instructions. From yakshas and rakshasas to causing harm, etc.
