之时也。具寿罗睺罗者，谓于年少而出家，于调伏之事多不晓，以我慢而自满，心想是佛子而未入于法。王舍城之大尸林寒林者，谓有百踰缮那，可怖畏，诸尸、起尸、折般、虎、蛇、狮子、饿鬼、食肉者、及诸鬼神尸路相通，互相撞击而发出种种音声，折般等搏斗之声甚可怖畏，又满布骨骸、头颅、皮革、手之指、足之断片、尸之断片，有以木桩贯穿者，有系于树上头尾倒置之尸，有以铁钩钩住腰子而悬于树上之尸，有为兵器所断成数段，口歪斜，眼向上翻而死者，充满种种不同之尸体。尸林之东有贝多罗林，于彼林中，一切凶恶之天女鬼神皆住于彼。南方有迦兰陀迦林，死主、瓶腹鬼、空行母等住于彼。西方为罗多林，鸟类、鹏鸟、龙之鬼神住于彼。北方有布朗基提林，于彼林中，夜叉、食肉者、一切凶恶之鬼女皆住于彼。东南方有朱多林，火神、忘却者、癫狂者等之鬼神住于彼。西南方有邬昙跋罗林，于其中，罗刹之鬼及，玛莫之鬼等。西北方有榕树林，风之鬼神及阿修罗等住于彼。东北方有多罗林，于其中，自在天之鬼神及一切之鬼住于彼。如是等等充满种种树木，鬼神、食肉者、起尸、于虚空中游行之鸟类、乌鸦、猫头鹰、鹫、鹤，以及迦兰陀等，亦恒常变异而贪食尸体。其他鸟类等发出种种声

In the southeast is the Chuta Forest, where the gods of fire, forgetfulness, madness, and other spirits reside. In the southwest is the Udumbara Forest, in which rakshasa ghosts and mamo ghosts reside. In the northwest is the Banyan Forest, where wind spirits and asuras reside. In the northeast is the Tala Forest, in which the spirits of Ishvara and all ghosts reside. Likewise, these and other places are full of various trees, spirits, flesh-eaters, zombies, birds flying in the sky, crows, owls, vultures, cranes, and also karandas, etc., are constantly changing and greedy for corpses. Other birds and so on make various sounds.
