The path is the method, and knowing and attaining it is of all the words of the Dharma, those are said to be the words of mantra. Those words cause the activities of the Bhagavan, such as mantra, to appear as deities. Through the method of mantra, bodhisattvas such as Samantabhadra are able to see the Dharma that explains the characteristics. This explains three aspects: the paths such as the body of the Tathagata transform into the form of the mandala deities; and how it accords with the disposition of sentient beings who can be tamed; and the Dharma that is taught is in the words of mantra. The Bhagavan also clearly explains this meaning in this tantra, saying that the Bhagavan speaks this because his own body and so forth transform into the form of the activity deity. Due to faith in the unobstructed ten powers of the Tathagata, my own nature appears in various colors and shapes, and in countless eons I give away countless billions of treasures, practice morality, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, thus the body that accumulates merit arises, and so forth. Furthermore, the activities such as the body of the Bhagavan transforming into the form of deities and so forth is not arbitrary, but is the nature that appears in order to tame sentient beings. As it is said: As soon as the Bhagavan enters into samadhi, the Bhagavan appears just as he is, the maturation of karma and life, eating fruit, the form of entering the intermediate state, color, shape, behavior, speech and expression, making each sentient being satisfied. From every pore constantly arise things born from the Dharmadhatu, and having arisen, they pervade the entire expanse of space, and in the world realm, with a single sound's intonation, the entire Dharmadhatu is comprehended. When the Tathagata appears, this verse of existence will arise, and so forth. Similarly, in order to transform those words into the words of mantra and so forth that they speak, and for the sake of their blessing, and how the method of the Tathagata's mantra abides in the seed syllables of letters.

Those. Secret Lord, those Tathagatas, with the true words accumulated over hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas, and the four mindfulnesses, and the four noble truths, and the four miraculous feet, and the ten powers of the Tathagata, and the six perfections, and the seven branches of enlightenment, and the four Brahma-viharas, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, in short, Secret Lord, all the omniscient wisdom of the Tathagatas, all of those are blessed by the Tathagata's own aspiration and wisdom power, and by the blessing of the Dharmadhatu, such as teaching the Dharma of mantras to sentient beings who have become empty. Regarding this, how can anyone say that such a mantra deity, etc., will arise from the Tathagata who abides in the Dharmakaya, where all discriminations have been completely cut off? Therefore, the Bhagavan said this: Just as the objects of the differences of bodies appear in many ways, so too are the lords of mantras spoken of as countless. Just as: The wish-fulfilling jewel is glorious, Perfectly accomplishing all desires, So too is the lamp of the world, The body accomplishes all meanings. How is it that the Secret Lord, the Dharmadhatu, without discrimination, manifests all that is needed? It is like this: Secret Lord, the space element is not a sentient being, not life, not born of power, not an agent, not a feeler, not an object, not a subject, separated from all discrimination and non-discrimination, yet it accomplishes the coming and going of all sentient beings without exception. There is no need for it. Likewise, the omniscient one, without abiding, although not discriminating, accomplishes the inner and outer affairs of all beings. This explanation is also to know the intention of the Bhagavan, it is like this: Although the Tathagata abiding in the Dharmakaya has no discrimination, by the power of past aspirations, he appears in all the bodies of gods, etc. What is to be done at the time of that discrimination?

Thereafter, Vajrapani, the Lord of Secrets, arose from among the assembled retinue and asked the Bhagavan, "O Blessed One, since this is so, what is the cause of this wisdom? What is the root? What is the ultimate?" In between. The actions of the Bhagavan's body, speech, and mind, arising from the omniscient wisdom, the omniscient wisdom distinguishes beings one by one, explaining in various ways, various thoughts, and various methods, how do these appear? Reciting again to the Bhagavan, inquiring about the cause, root, and ultimate of the omniscient wisdom. How to do it? It is not to ask the words that appear next, but to state how one understands those, and then state the combination of words asking about the cause, root, and ultimate of the omniscient wisdom. Among them, the Bhagavan and the Tathagata have been mentioned earlier. Arhat is the Arhat who has overcome the enemy of afflictions, or the place worthy of respect, having obtained the omniscient wisdom of the Buddha who has perfectly realized complete enlightenment, it refers to truly abiding in the essence of Bodhicitta. Omniscient wisdom is of two kinds, namely conventional truth and ultimate truth. Conventional truth is the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, etc., which are all aspects of omniscience. In ultimate truth, it is knowing emptiness. Distinguishing one by one means the meaning of explaining one by one. Omniscience becomes one and complete, the characteristics will be explained below. Beings born as humans and gods, etc., accomplishing the ten virtuous deeds of the world, and also Shravakas, etc., are all part of omniscience. How to understand it? All the merits of the world are the cause arising from omniscience itself, because it has a part of omniscience, so it becomes the cause. Furthermore, one must recognize the cause and nature of essence from manifestation and essence. When Bodhisattvas practice, the accumulated virtuous roots are all accumulated in omniscient wisdom, naturally accomplished, and various ways, etc., are shown separately to sentient beings. Among them, various ways refer to, for some beings, teaching the Hearer Vehicle.
