Since the earth element is not different from the aggregates, the entities that are examined in the realms and sources do not exist, but are merely the individual natures of those. Also, what is grasped and what grasps: the aggregate of form is examined as the entity to be grasped, and the four aggregates, such as feeling, are examined as the entity that grasps. However, the entity that is examined does not exist, since all phenomena are merely their individual natures. Thus, by generating a mind of weariness towards the aggregates, one dismantles and meditates on their nature as bubbles and so forth, and by generating the thought that they exist in the aggregates, one will be liberated from grasping at the aggregates. When a mind of weariness arises towards the aggregates, and one meditates on them as being like bubbles, blisters, illusions, and mirages, one will be completely liberated. Thus, having been completely liberated from the aggregates, understanding that the essence of phenomena, their nature, exists only as the characteristic that is separate from examination into aggregates and so forth, is what is stated in the scriptures, as follows: "Separated from the aggregates, realms, sources, what is grasped, and what grasps, the nature of the suchness of phenomena is the peaceful realm, which will be realized." Here, "separated from the aggregates, realms, sources, what is grasped, and what grasps" means that, in the manner of refuting the entities examined in the aggregates and so forth above, the nature of the suchness of phenomena, such as blue and so forth, as they truly are, does not exist as an entity that is examined, and therefore is separate. Therefore, the phrase "separated from what is grasped and what grasps" refers to being separated from examining the aggregate of form as what is grasped, and examining the four aggregates, such as feeling, as the entity that grasps. It does not refer to the characteristic of the smallness of selflessness in phenomena being separated from what is grasped and what grasps. The phrase "the nature of the suchness of phenomena" means that, here, phenomena are the aggregates and so forth. The essence of those is the nature of the suchness of phenomena, which are the natures such as blue and red. Thus, understanding that only the natures such as blue and red exist, and that the entity examined in the aggregates and so forth does not exist, is called realizing the peaceful realm. "Peaceful" means that the cause of the mind, the delusion of examining the aggregates and so forth, does not exist, and therefore it is peaceful. "Realm" is nature. "Realization" is that.

Thus, one comprehends the nature of things. Secret Lord, the mind that transcends the world is related to the eight kinds of inverted and non-inverted minds in sequence, and the union that is free from the ocean of karma and afflictions will pass through one kalpa. This refers to the liberation from clinging to the reality examined in the aggregates, and only comprehending the individual nature of all dharmas. The peaceful mind begins with the non-existence of reality in the aggregates. Entering into the comprehension that the individual nature of all dharmas is merely the end of blue, etc., after one kalpa, this mind transcends itself, comprehends the selflessness of dharmas, and will enter the stage of faith. Among them, the mind that transcends the world, knowing the sequence of the eight kinds of inverted and non-inverted minds, refers to the eighth mind from the stream-enterer to the arhat. These minds are inverted because they cling to the reality examined in the inverted and non-inverted aggregates, etc. They are non-inverted because they have abandoned afflictions. They are inverted because they are accompanied by the habits of afflictions. Association refers to the peaceful mind that comprehends the selflessness of the aggregates, which is generated by the eight stages of the mind that clings to the reality of the aggregates. Therefore, it is said that the mind that transcends the world is related to the sequence of the eight kinds of inverted and non-inverted minds. These faithful bodhisattvas with dull faculties, who practice through the gate of mantras, practice the sequence of afflictions such as one hundred and sixty minds in the sequence of comprehending the selflessness of persons. Now, I will explain the sequence of faithful bodhisattvas who practice through the gate of mantras, great vehicle practitioners, who are not caused by other conditions, and who are sharp in wisdom, meditate on the selflessness of both dharmas and persons, and enter the stage of faith. That is, Secret Lord, those who enter the Great Vehicle, not caused by other conditions, generate the mind in the nature of the selflessness of dharmas. Bodhisattvas who enter the Great Vehicle, who have heard a great deal and are extremely sharp in wisdom, are not contaminated by other conditions, and with their own wisdom, they know that all dharmas are like illusions and mirages, etc.
