Thus it is said. Things are aggregates, elements, sense bases, and so on. When one knows that these arise dependently and realizes that they are without substance, that is the truth of things. Whatever one diligently applies oneself to that can abandon afflictions and can arise exceedingly, that is the truth of exceedingly arising. All compounded things are seen as ceasing, but cessation itself does not cease. That which is without leakage is unborn, and that is the truth of knowing cessation and non-arising. The path of wisdom by which one accumulates merit and wisdom, thereby entering the understanding that all phenomena are without arising and without ceasing, that is said to be the truth of the wisdom of entering the path. The cloud of Dharma universally arises in the realm of all things within the reach of the Tathagata's wisdom, and that is the truth of the Tathagata's wisdom truly arising. Because there is a need to explain the words and meanings of these ten truths, it is the meaning of the ten meanings. Because he has become the lord of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, he is the Sage King. The ten powers of the Tathagata are as follows: the power of knowing what is possible and impossible; the power of knowing actions and their maturation; the power of knowing various realms; the power of knowing various inclinations; the power of knowing superior and inferior faculties; the power of thoroughly knowing the path that leads everywhere as it is; the power of knowing meditative absorptions, liberations, samadhis, and attainments; the power of knowing the recollection of past lives; the power of knowing death and rebirth; and the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements. Because he possesses these powers, he has the ten powers. Because he pervades all, he is the Lord of Pervasion. Having thoroughly distinguished by the divisions of various inclinations, he accomplishes the benefit of the characteristic of liberation for all beings without exception, according to their respective capacities, so he accomplishes all benefits, that is, he accomplishes without omission. The ten kinds of mastery are: mastery over life, mastery over mind, mastery over resources, mastery over actions, mastery over birth, mastery over miraculous powers, mastery over aspirations, mastery over vows, and mastery over wisdom.
