At that time, the Blessed One said to the great Bodhisattva Vajrapani: "Why not tame this one? Should his life be revived, is that alright?" This means, do not let his life be lost in vain, but revive him. Why is that? Because in that way, this one will also become a great man." Thus it was said. Then, Vajrapani thought, "I will do just as it is." This means, however the Blessed One teaches, I will do accordingly. With what essence should he be revived from death? That is the essence of reviving the dead, so it was said. Then, from having lost consciousness, he regained consciousness, and wanting to rise, he could not rise. Then, he said to the Blessed One, "Blessed One, are you taming someone like me?" He thought this: No one else can tame him, therefore, the Blessed One, you have tamed me, you have done this, no one else can do it. Then, the Blessed One again spoke an answer that matched his thoughts: "He is both a man and a great man, therefore he is a great man. 'This'" refers to Samantabhadra. "If you do not allow obedience" means if you are not willing to obey his command, then, it is you who are being tamed, not me. Why is that? This is to show: Why do you not act as the protector of us? The Blessed One spoke the reason for this, because he is the master of all Tathagatas.

What is the reason for the distinction? If one does not seek another lord other than the Tathāgatas, the lords of the three realms, then who is this? The rest are easy to understand. Then, in that interval, the Blessed One Vajrapāṇi said to the great god, "Do you not listen to my command?" Like this, up to the point of saying "I do not listen," it is spoken extensively. Then, Bodhisattva Mahāsattva Vajrapāṇi, etc., knowing that the great god does not want to listen to the command, became extremely angry, which indicates extreme agitation. "From the sole of his own foot" means from under his own foot. Because he follows the vajra, he acts after the vajra. "For the sake of taming the great powerful one" means for the sake of destroying the arrogance of the great powerful one. Then, "Having said thus" refers to immediately after uttering the essence. The Blessed One, acting after the vajra, bent his foot and placed it at the feet of the Blessed One Vajrapāṇi. This indicates that he subdues with contempt, thereby destroying arrogance. Now, the Blessed One Vajrapāṇi says, "How should I act?" This is receiving the command from the Blessed One. The Blessed One also knowing that he is subduing with contempt, said, "Suppress him."

Saying such words: 'I am the great god among gods, the master of all beings.' I am also the one who can completely destroy, there is none more supreme than me. Now this great being has subdued me in this way.' Thus laughing and mocking. Then, at that time, the Blessed One, knowing that the great god had been subdued and completely subdued, generated great compassion for him, and in order to pacify the suffering he was experiencing, with the loving intention belonging to all Buddhas, aroused by the essence of all Buddhas, spoke this. Immediately after speaking the essence, the suffering that the great god was experiencing disappeared. Then, again, because of the touch of Vajrapani's sole, he obtained the supreme bliss of accomplishment, that is, Buddhahood. Because of this reason, empowerment was given, so it is the empowerment of supreme accomplishment. Samadhi and liberation, as well as dharani, wisdom, and supernormal knowledge, are the empowerment of supreme bliss of accomplishment, samadhi and liberation, as well as dharani, wisdom, and supernormal knowledge, are for the purpose of obtaining these. The word 'between' is a summary of the earth and the paramitas, and so on. The state of becoming accomplished as a Tathagata, for the word 'becoming a Tathagata,' is for the purpose of later transformation and manifestation, for the purpose of generating faith. Then, at that time, the great god, because of the bliss of the touch of the Blessed One Vajrapani's sole, belonging to all Tathagatas, the doors of samadhi, dharani, and liberation that will appear in the future, were born from the power of the Blessed One Samantabhadra. Among these, samadhi is like the Akashagarbha and so on. Dharani is like the Wisdom Lamp and so on. The door of liberation is emptiness and signlessness, and so on. Experience is the bliss arising from those, satisfying one's own afflictions. The great god's body was offered to Vajrapani's sole, and the blessings of the Buddhas caused the world realm to be covered with dust, and he himself completely attained perfect enlightenment.
