That which I hold. The self-essence is Vajrasattva. The term 'meditation' means that if one becomes accustomed to the great mudra of Vajrasattva, one will quickly achieve it. Now, from 'thereafter' onwards, it reveals the secret vows of all the mandalas as spoken. The term 'free from desire' indicates that through the gateway of being free from desire, the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are shown to have the potential for enlightenment. The term 'like' means that after generating the mind of enlightenment, there is no other sin in all three realms that is like doing that. Because among all sins, the most unbearable is the five heinous crimes. Even if one commits that, one will be born in the lower realms, and after all sins are exhausted, one will again become one who has the potential for enlightenment. If one becomes free from desire and becomes a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha, one will not become one who has the potential to attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Therefore, as it is said, 'Like the sin of being free from desire, there is no other in the three realms.' Therefore, therefore, therefore, do not be free from desire! This is what is said. Desire refers to the Bhagavan's mind of enlightenment. To that, being free from desire means not turning one's back on it. Therefore, the vehicle of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, who have not generated the mind of enlightenment, is the wheel of being free from desire. Because it is free from desire, it is a wheel. To be particularly devoted to that is also to be devoted to being free from desire, so it is called the wheel of being free from desire. To destroy it is for the teacher to recite the essence of 'phaṭ' (藏文,梵文天城体,phaṭ,摧毁). At that time, the wheel of being free from desire is destroyed. Then, 'the heart essence of the oath is to be spoken' means 'do not show this to anyone,' and so on. The term 'thus' means that just as it is done in this mandala of one mudra, in all the mandalas of the Tathagata family, such as the Vajradhatu, when inviting the deities to descend, one completely abandons the mind of enlightenment.
