and so on are also well understood. After all activities are completed, there is no noise or clamor. One should reside in a secluded place, sit in the lotus position, straighten the body, and with a clear and unclouded mind, maintain mindfulness closely. As for the object of meditation that has been received, one should place the tip of the nose as the object and meditate. What should be meditated upon is: 'The tongue should be placed against the palate, and the tip of the nose should be contemplated.' This means that the tongue should be placed against the palate. This means that from the root of the tongue to the front teeth, in this manner, the tongue should be applied towards the upper side of the palate. This is to say that both the outside and inside of the mouth should be placed equally. 'The tip of the nose should be contemplated.' This means that the object of samadhi, which is the vajra fine particle, should be placed on the tip of the nose, and one should contemplate on that. This is to say that with that sign, the stream of mind should be generated without interruption. Each day, one should understand the object of samadhi well, and one should abandon the signs of bad thoughts, such as family, ordination, and association. It is like this: 'The mad elephant of the mind wanders astray, with the rope of mindfulness, it is tied to the pillar of the object, gradually, it is subdued with the iron hook of wisdom.' It is like that, so this is contemplating on the tip of the nose. When meditating on the vajra fine particle at the tip of the nose becomes stable, the sign of the touch of bliss arises. Because it is the touch that is the cause of bliss, it is the touch of bliss. If the vajra fine particle exists, because it touches bliss, it is the bliss touch of the vajra fine particle. From that bliss touch of the vajra fine particle, the mind will be equally placed. This means that one will attain samadhi. This is to say that if one meditates on the vajra fine particle, at the tip of the nose or elsewhere, with the difference of the sign of the touch of bliss, one will be able to eliminate the faults such as the discomfort of the body. The so-called extreme pliancy of the body will arise. If one is free from the discomfort of the body, the body will become serviceable and one will be able to exert effort. Extreme pliancy of the body will generate extreme pliancy of the mind, extreme pliancy of the body

One will experience happiness, and having happiness means the mind becomes one-pointed, just as it is said. "When the bliss of the vajra-subtlety is touched, when does the sign arise?" This means that when one has practiced the vajra-subtlety, at any time when a feeling of bliss arises in the body or mind, at that time, that sign should be pervaded. This means to fully expand and broaden. The so-called "that mind" refers to any external form, whether white or yellow, etc., the nature that appears individually in the mind is called "that mind." The so-called "to pervade universally" means that it should also be sent out in the ten directions. The internal sign is the cause of the feeling of bliss, the difference of touch, and that is also called mind. The so-called "should be pervaded universally" means that the sign of the feeling of bliss should pervade one's entire body, that is the meaning. "As much as one desires, the mind pervades, and the three realms also pervade." This means that as much as one desires to pervade, it refers to expanding in dwellings, monasteries, and places, etc., that is as much as one desires to pervade. In this way, as much as one desires to pervade, the so-called mind is the mind of samadhi appearing as form. The so-called "also in the three realms," the word "also" is because the yogi has obtained mastery, and it should also pervade the realms of space. "Then, that also is gathered." In this sentence, "that" refers to the mind. The word "also" is relative to pervading. "Gathering" means to collect. So, to what extent should it be gathered? Therefore, it is said, "Abiding between the tip of the nose." It means to abandon one cubit, two cubits, three cubits, etc., and gather until it reaches the tip of the nose. The so-called "then" is from the beginning of obtaining mastery of samadhi, the so-called "any slight" refers to activities such as offerings.
