One should practice in the manner of carrying out, and also abandon attachment to samsara and clinging to nirvana. With wisdom, one does not abide in samsara, and with compassion, one does not abide in nirvana. The end of ordinary consciousness manifests in the realm of the Buddha's intention. Therefore, one should take instruction from these meanings. Alas! Clinging to self, and wrong views, should all be falsely declared as untrue. Do not become attached to falsehood. Do not generate discriminating thoughts of clinging. Let go of the mind of hope, fear, and effort. The meaning of this is: Alas! All beings of the three realms are called "sentient beings." This is the summary of instructing them. What are these? The so-called "I" is clinging to the self that is conceived by thoughts of difference. Because of clinging to self, samsara appears and turns into suffering, so let it go. Discriminating about its limits is wrong view. Because it is deceptive, it is not to be trusted, and one should falsely declare it as untrue in a non-attached way. Even to the very meaning of reversing the falsehood by falsely declaring "I am without attachment," do not become attached to it. How should one abide? Without engaging in discriminating thoughts of clinging to differences, one should abide in the very reality of the primordial state. Let go of the mind of hoping for results and striving for things corresponding to samsara, and this natural joy of a mind that is nothing at all is the true noble one. Having thus explained the meaning of non-duality, if one realizes it, one should explain that everything is its essence. Once realized, everything is it. No one can know anything other than it. Reading, holding, thinking, and meditating are it itself. The scriptures are explained in the mind, and are definitely understood. Is there a view that can indicate "is" and "is not"? The meaning of this is: Once the primordial reality is realized, then everything that appears and sounds is its essence. Other than it, all four extremes, whether wise or venerable, etc., cannot be known by anyone. Moreover, in the 'Continuum of Non-Abiding' it says: The nature of mind transformed into space is Samantabhadra, Ordinary consciousness is that which is personally experienced. When the holy ones realize it, This is Heruka, the nature of all.

Therefore, all reading, holding, thinking, and meditating should be regarded as distinctions of that (Dharmata), for they do not go beyond its essence. As it is said in that very tantra: 'Like the essence of space, which is pure by nature, even if clouds and other adventitious stains arise, it is still the nature of space. The Vajra Wisdom, which is the nature of mind, though appearing in various forms, is the essence of its original state. Though different actions and forms appear, they are not different from that meaning. This is the very nature, the great bliss.' Therefore, one should understand that everything is the nature of Suchness. Therefore, these cannot be measured or indicated by symbols and terms, for these nectars that come from the mouth of the sacred Dharma are not any mind, so they are explained to what is not any mind, and understood as such, this is certain. Its essence is not speculated as being or not being, nor is there any view that can represent it. Therefore, these are not to be measured, they are neither realized nor unrealized. Having thus shown the distinction of the essential meaning, it is further shown that it is to be realized from the holy Guru: 'My instruction for realizing that (Dharmata) depends solely on the words of the Guru. Whatever the Guru speaks and enters the heart, is like placing a fresh Amla fruit in the palm of the hand, or like seeing a precious jewel clearly without discrimination.' The meaning of this is that the awareness that holds all sentient beings as self is no different from the Dharmakaya, and those instructions for realizing that (Dharmata) are "Sirita Na Ega Ri," which means to rely solely on the words of the Guru. What are those? They are called "Asmi Ragatra Na," and their meaning is: 'Which protector can prophesy? That is the distant Guru. Experiencing that (Dharmata) is the close Guru. Because of the birth of the Buddhas of the three times, it is not unsurpassed. Respect for the words of the holy one, and certainty in the sound, if dependence is abandoned, there is no doubt, accomplishment and non-accomplishment are that (Dharmata).' Thus the meaning of the sound is determined. Therefore, the true awareness spoken by the Gurus is understood naturally, that is, by the nature of that (Dharmata)...
