thinking of consciousness as permanent and substantial. Because of their wrong thoughts, it is not suchness, and they cannot attain it. Moreover, it is said in the Tantra of Non-Abiding: "Perverted asceticism binds the body, the bound mind is tormented. By this, the Dharmakaya is exhausted, and the original nature cannot be realized." Therefore, the venerable Mountain Dweller said: "With discriminating thoughts, one cannot truly be liberated. It is much more comfortable to abide in ordinary non-discrimination. Like a man contemplating the edge of the sky, I do not know this edge." Therefore, what has been said above is only difficult to experience. In what kind of conduct do they abide? Body and speech conduct are the main ones, such as monks, novices, laywomen, etc. The basis of elders, workers, and those who are appointed, the conduct of leaving home from home, learning from the sutras in the Lesser Vehicle, the mind that is manifestly ignorant of the Four Noble Truths, the eighteen schools disagree and abandon to other places, in the absence of a person, clinging to the self in the Dharma, saying that consciousness is substantial in the three times, making the cessation of non-discrimination the ultimate, the Sutra School is the self-Buddha, the twelve links of dependent origination go against the norm, and they want to attain liberation by stopping it. Some make the Great Vehicle the cause of it, and those who measure it observe it manifestly, and consciousness is established as extremely fine dust, and it is no different from the Arhat. The meaning of this is: The Shravakas of small wisdom also manifest themselves, and they also abide in the precepts of the seven assemblies, with the three aspects of the body and the four aspects of speech as the main conduct, and they also abide in seven categories. What are the seven? Monks, nuns, novices, novice nuns, laymen, laywomen, and probationary nuns. Their gathering is called the Sangha, and they behave like the owners of monasteries, like groups. The basis of their similarity is that the elders are like merchants. The workers are those who are upright in speech and skilled in order. Those who are appointed by the Sangha are the internal enforcers, etc., precious.

It is done in the manner of explaining from the aggregates. The term "basis" means being the basis of the teachings or being the basis of the three vows. How is that? As it is said in the Sutra 'Peak of the Jewel Banner': 'O monks, dwelling in a house is engaging closely with the cause of suffering.' 'O monks, knowledge diminishes, life shortens, and the formations of life are sure to be destroyed, so why do you not accomplish it with diligence and steadfast faith?' Obtaining a human body is very difficult, and having obtained it, ordaining in the Buddha's teachings is also difficult. Being deceived by things that are incompatible with the meaning of liberation, one becomes a source of suffering. Separating from life and dying is easy, but the decay and destruction of morality is not so. Why is that? Separating from life ends this very life, but the decay and destruction of morality leads to separation from good fortune and abandonment of happiness for hundreds of millions of lifetimes, experiencing the suffering of maturation. Therefore, monks, one should not dwell in a house. A house is a place of afflictions, a net of sins, a bondage to samsara, and a source of all endless suffering. Monks, dwelling in a house is being small-minded, and never being liberated from the prison of samsara. Monks, those who dwell in a house are burners of the seeds of virtue, a trap of attachment, like a fishing net, like a mud pit, like an enemy's weapon, like riding a mad elephant, like dwelling in a house of fire, like a chariot without wheels, like a Sikatī flower, like dwelling in a Krimon, like a Tala tree with its head, like a great power without limbs, like a sprout of grass scorched by the sun. Because of these faults, one should go forth from home to homelessness. Monks, I am the best of all two-legged beings. All the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past have always not transgressed the morality of ordination. Therefore, I have done what is to be done, exhausted the outflows, and subdued the afflictions.
