From the ultimate point of view, suchness is neither possessed of afflictions nor completely pure. As it is said in that (scripture): 'Neither afflicted nor unafflicted, neither pure nor impure.' This (verse) shows the three objects to be explained extensively: abandoning the combination of existence and non-existence, these themselves are the objects of the nature of reality. Among them, the nature of being without defilement, called 'discrimination,' is what is to be discriminated and practiced, and is the object that accomplishes that (ultimate truth). What is called the nature of enlightenment is the meaning of direct realization, the object to be accomplished. If, in this way, the objects of valid cognition and what is to be measured are also objects, why not show the combination of five objects? This is true. However, when those previously existing suchness, which are fully established by valid cognition, are combined through the door of pith instructions, they are what is strongly accomplished. Those are not shown here. Because of being separated from one and many, etc., it is also to remember the very reason for strongly accomplishing. Because the suchness that is strongly established by conduct is not the object of suchness, thusness, etc., because it is separated from the oral instructions of the noble guru, it is only a part of wisdom, because it is separated from skillful means. By the one who correctly explains, not adorned by the words of the guru, the Madhyamaka is only mediocre. Thus, in other places, these three objects are shown. Here, the Madhyamaka is not the entry of valid cognition and what is to be measured, because it cannot tolerate the analytical observation of self and other, etc., so it is thought. This is not reasonable, because without valid cognition, it is difficult to establish what can be established and what is to be established. With the words, 'They are all conventional, how can they be established in the ultimate truth?' If there are no characteristics and what is to be measured, they only exist in the conventional, then how can one examine from self and other, etc.? As it changes, so it is promised. In most cases, the path here follows the footsteps of Dharmakīrti, the crest jewel of valid cognitions. Relying on that, following his path, and combining the arrangement of all this.

Yes, but it is not to negate them with one's own mind. If one follows its path, will self-nature also be accomplished? No. Why? For the time being, even if it is done because of the need to establish the vast things of the external world, it will be fundamentally overturned by increasingly higher intellect. At that time, it is necessary to distinguish, with what should one analyze things? There is no thing on that. Because it is neither one nor many, self-nature does not exist on that. These come from that definite reasoning. No matter what the wise say, how they think about things, they decline in that way. Therefore, because the essence is emptiness, it shows no self-nature. Saying such things very clearly, so enough with the detailed explanation. Next, the connection related to the present situation should be explained: What is to be expressed in this treatise is Suchness, that is, reality itself. That is also the meaning shown by the main objects of veneration. The expresser is the treatise itself. These also show the connection of the nature of what is to be expressed and the expresser in meaning. The necessity of the treatise is also to understand the meaning of what is to be expressed. The main purpose of its necessity is to benefit sentient beings. The non-main purpose is: to achieve Buddhahood and so on by practicing it. It is said thus: The perfect Buddhas who benefit others, especially consider the main part of the result. Becoming a Buddha and anything else, for its sake, it is considered a result. Like this, by fully understanding the combined Suchness, those who want to pursue the fulfillment of wishes should promise. To the saying that Suchness is what one wants to know, it is neither with form nor without form. Such words were spoken. Entering with form is knowledge with form. Manifestation with form is without form. Therefore, with the word "with form," the Sutra School and the Yogacara School are prevented and taken. The word "without form" also includes the Vaibhashika and the differences of the Yogacara School. These include the views of with form and without form. Suchness is the person who wants to know.
