The Extensive Commentary on the Ten Suchness, The Spontaneous Vajra. The Extensive Commentary on the Ten Suchness, The Spontaneous Vajra. In the language of India: Tattvādaśakaṭīkā. In the Tibetan language: Extensive Commentary on the Ten Suchness. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva. Those whose essence is the power of compassion from the part of the sacred guru, The union of things, suchness, becomes the complete enlightenment. To those themselves, it is fitting to pay homage with reverence and always rely on them. Having bowed to that, I shall compose a true explanation of the ten suchness. Then, in the presence of this teacher, after extensively showing the order of engaging in the meaning established by valid cognition, Madhyamaka, and scripture, intending to compose a concise instruction on the Perfection of Wisdom that accords with the system of mantra, therefore, for the sake of initially paying homage to the very nature of the three kayas, which are the nature of reality, named "Other Perfection of Wisdom," which is solely the nature of what is to be expressed, what is to be accomplished, what accomplishes, and suchness itself, Whatever abandons the combination of existence and non-existence, I pay homage and revere to suchness. Thus it is said. Suchness, in which phenomena exist as they are, suchness, reality, the realm of phenomena, the ultimate limit, the ultimate meaning, emptiness, and so forth, are synonyms. The Lord Maitreya also said: Emptiness, in brief, is suchness and the ultimate limit. Signlessness and ultimate meaning, the realm of phenomena are synonyms. It is like what was said. Attachment to existence and non-existence is the combination of existence and non-existence; abandoning those is separation. To that itself, I pay homage and revere, speaking twice with special devotion. To that, the combination of existence is existence, truth, thing, samsara, birth, and permanence, etc., are one meaning. The combination of non-existence is non-existence, untruth, non-thing, unborn, nirvana, and attachment, etc., are one meaning. For suchness, since it is separated from the combination of existence and non-existence, the characteristic of dependent origination arises.

O Possessor of Virtue! Things have no inherent birth, like unborn flowers in the sky. With the nature of being unborn, birth is regarded as suchness. Therefore, things do not exist. There is no existence, no peaceful Nirvana, neither happiness nor suffering, neither permanence nor annihilation. This is a verse of suffering. Nagarjuna said: Some of inferior intellect see existence as non-existence. By that, things are nearly pacified, and the virtuous object of view is not seen. What is called existence is seen as permanent. If one thinks of non-existence, it is annihilation. To be liberated from these two extremes, this Dharma is taught by the Victorious One. Whatever wisdom transcends existence and non-existence does not fixate on either. Those with profound wisdom that does not fixate meditate on the meaning of dependent arising. Liberation is not achieved through things, nor is it achieved through non-things. If one knows things and non-things, then the great being will be liberated. Samsara and Nirvana, both of these are non-existent. If Samsara is fully known, it is called Nirvana. Thus it is said. What is the combination of existence and non-existence? It is said: For the time being, these beings do not exist because they are separate from one and many. Mountains and oceans are the basis, and houses and so on are different. Because these various things appear, it is not reasonable to consider them as having the same nature. Each of the mountains and so on is not reasonably considered as its own part. Although it is so, are the extremely subtle particles, with indivisible bodies, each individually one? Those too do not exist, because they are different due to the distinctions of directional parts. Thus it is also said: Nagarjuna said: Because the parts of directional divisions are different, even the subtle particles appear different. What is the characteristic of a part and a whole? How can there be subtle particles in that? Thus it is said. And from elsewhere it is said: By the simultaneous combination of six, the subtle particle is itself a part of six. If the six are in one place, they become a mass as small as a subtle particle. Thus it is said. If the subtle particles are not established, then even a single one is not established. And because the single one is not established, the nature of its accumulation is also not established. What thing, separate from one and many, can exist and be seen?
