and also to believe that what appears as many is also true as many. The first is also not logical, for if the object and consciousness are two, are they one or different? If they are one, since there are many aspects, consciousness would also become many. If the object and consciousness are different, why would they not become Hearers? The second is also not logical, just as the object is harmed by valid cognition, why would consciousness not be harmed? Furthermore, is this wheel of aspects apprehended by a deluded consciousness or by a non-deluded one? If it is apprehended by a deluded consciousness, then the vow that aspects are true is broken. If it is apprehended by a non-deluded consciousness, then all would see the truth. The belief that aspects are false should also be understood as twofold: the consciousness that sees this shore and the wisdom of nirvana. The wisdom of nirvana should also be understood as twofold: with defilements and self-awareness that is pure. According to the way with defilements, this manifold wheel of aspects does not appear in the face of equipoise, but it is believed to appear in subsequent attainment. According to the way of pure self-awareness, it is believed that there is no wheel of aspects in the subsequent attainment when the path of seeing has arisen. That consciousness by mere experience is not at all reasonable, for in any case, you, proponent of aspects, is your consciousness ultimately existent after being born or unborn? If it exists after being born, does it arise from itself or from another? If it arises from itself, is the self established or unestablished? What is established does not need to be born, and what is unestablished cannot be born. If it arises from another, is it permanent or impermanent? If it arises from what is permanent, since it is unchanging, it cannot be a cause. If it arises from what is impermanent, since the impermanent is included by time, one should ask from which of the past, future, and present it arises. The past and future two, since they are nonexistent, cannot serve as a cause. If it arises from the present, since cause and effect would be simultaneous, what is to be produced and what produces are not reasonable, and the vow that it exists after being born is broken. If you say it exists without being born, it is impossible for it to exist without being born, like a flower in the sky. Therefore, those who are possessed by demons, who believe that consciousness is substantial, the name of liberation is also impossible, because self-

It only destroys. There are also two types of Madhyamaka: those who say that all dharmas are illusory and those who say that they do not abide. The tenet of illusion is not reasonable, because the illusion is not proven by valid cognition (pramāṇa), and because it is an illusion, it is not true. Therefore, the illusion will disappear. The doctrine of non-abiding intention should be known in two ways: the truth of ultimate nature and the truths of conventionalities. There are two kinds of ultimate truth: with and without nomenclature. There are two kinds of conventional truth: correct and incorrect. These are the supreme tenets, and the unsurpassed secret mantra vehicle is no different from them. So, are the pāramitā and secret mantra vehicles no different? For sentient bodhisattvas, there is not the slightest difference in meaning. In the difference of methods and paths, there are inconceivable differences. As it is said: "Although the meaning is one, there is no confusion, many methods are not difficult, and the power of sharp faculties makes the mantra vehicle superior." Like that. The one who benefits beings through various vehicles like this is also the wisdom bodhisattva yourself. The three vehicles refer to the Śrāvakayāna, Pratyekabuddhayāna, and Bodhisattvayāna. Regarding renunciation, it is said that only the truth of the first bhūmi can be attained by the three vehicles, but the ultimate eleventh bhūmi's wisdom can only be attained by the unsurpassed vehicle, therefore, it abides in the fruit of one vehicle. It is said like that. The lord who purifies the realms of afflictions means to purify the fruit of saṃsāra. The realm of karma is to exhaust it, which means to purify the cause of saṃsāra. Transcending all rivers and oceans refers to the river of desire, the river of existence, the river of ignorance, and the river of the view of self. These are like the ocean and difficult to cross, so they are called the ocean. Transcending all means liberation from all of these. By what method does one transcend? It is called the solitary place of union, which is the union of the accumulations of merit and wisdom of union. Solitary place is called solitary place, called solitude, called emptiness, like this, it arises from meditating on the two accumulations and emptiness. Afflictions refer to desire and hatred.
