DTG046 0096.Commentary on the Difficult Points of the Black Enemy Yamari Tantra..g2.0f

I produce results in a conforming manner, just as cloth made from black thread turns black. Otherwise, how could one adopt a conforming approach? It is not so, because the cause is other, and the result is other; the cause itself does not become the result. Therefore, what is the use of examining conformity in things whose essence is different? Just as a small loquat seed does not produce a tree with branches and so on, how can it become a conforming state? Or, the so-called nature of skillful means and wisdom is merely to make it clear; one should realize that the nature of co-emergence is blissful wisdom itself. Skillful means and wisdom are merely to make it manifest. Thus, by exhausting the obscurations of habit, one realizes the self-knowing of Suchness itself, like a lamp illuminating a vase. Or, the term "skillful means and wisdom" refers to all phenomena of existence and non-existence; in any case, phenomena of existence and non-existence are not other than Suchness itself. Even so, existence and non-existence are characterized by mutual exclusion, so how can Suchness arise from their essence? That is not good. It should be understood that this eliminates both objects of existence and non-existence, and so on. Thus, if the essence of a thing is manifestly established, it eliminates the essence of non-being, and the essence of non-being also obstructs being. How can a thing with a separately determined nature eliminate both essences? Therefore, the nature of being and non-being, and so on, cannot be the object of Suchness, because both have faults. What is this? Is not the nature of awareness also non-existent in Suchness? Thus, what kind of awareness would an uncertain nature become? Things are also confused; for example, whatever is perceived from an uncertain mound and the shape of a man becomes confused.

Thus. Therefore, that which is perceived by a definite object becomes suchness as it is. For example, by ascertaining the shape of the belly and neck of a pot, it becomes known that the pot is perceived. Therefore, from ascertaining the nature of things and non-things, one becomes aware of suchness itself. How can one be completely liberated from samsara through this kind of knowledge? Even if one does not know, it becomes suchness, thus stopping this existence. Everyone will attain it as well. In this way, without effort, one will attain transcendence from samsara and existence. It should be said like this: I am not saying that there is no suchness. In this way, in order to separately realize the true nature of suchness, which is free from all faults, one strives diligently. Wherever there is a fault, that aspect will not become suchness. If things and non-things are also the source of faults, then how can they become suchness by their very nature? Therefore, what is there to argue about this nature that comes from the power of valid cognition of a nature in which all aspects are invisible? Furthermore, how can one become aware or unaware through an uncertain object? It is like blind and mute people experiencing the taste of sweet earth and so on. So, how can it become without experience from the uncertainty of no-self? For the blind, there is uncertainty about the nature of blue and white, etc.

It is not said to be false, because that is also its own nature. It is not that blue is recognized as false by the mere knowledge of blue. Likewise, whatever is true, it is not made true by intelligence itself. Nor is it possible to recognize it as false in terms of another truth, because, for the time being, knowledge without other aspects does not even recognize something like a dream. Therefore, how does that which is without aspects recognize aspects as false? Furthermore, one consciousness is also not able to make the distinction of another consciousness false, because it abides in its own nature. It is not established to say that 'the knowledge of blue does not recognize yellow as false,' because one should accept self-awareness that is devoid of all expression, how can it be accepted as devoid of aspects? By its very nature, it will not accept that which is devoid of all expression. Furthermore, how can those without aspects completely abandon the acceptance of those with aspects? These are interdependent, like this shore and the other shore. How can this only accept the aspect of the wisdom of suchness from the complete elimination of that which is without aspects? Because whatever kind of aspectual consciousness appears, that is all true. Therefore, there is no object of false aspect whatsoever, because in all these, the very nature of aspectual consciousness arises. If that is so, then there is no wrong consciousness whatsoever, then how will liberation be attained by striving in all things? Because then there is no samsara. These false appearances of falsehood are samsara, and if there is no false aspect in it, then what is there to destroy in samsara? Everything is the aspect of wisdom itself, and those with aspects will be called wisdom. This is what is taught, here it is said: How can this wisdom of the nature of all things that is devoid of expression fully grasp aspects? Saying this is not good. Because all nature is inexpressible, there is also no one to accept in it, therefore, merely experiencing oneself, abandoning all thoughts, is mind.
