Commentary on the Difficult Points of the Black Enemy Yamari Tantra. Commentary on the Difficult Points of the Black Enemy Yamari Tantra. Chapter One: Explanation of the Aspects of Manifest Enlightenment. In Sanskrit: Krishnayamaritantrapanjika. In Tibetan: Commentary on the Difficult Points of the Black Enemy Yamari Tantra. Homage to glorious Yamantaka! He who pervades unreal beings, who ferries limitless beings across the ocean of samsara, the blood-drinking protector, to that lord I pay homage. I will compose this commentary on the Black Enemy, for the benefit of sentient beings, by the command of my lama, on this very profound tantra. Thus I have heard, at one time, and so forth. This 'Thus I have heard' means that Vajrapani heard and realized the truth spoken by the Bhagavan while residing in the great mandala. When was it? At one time; time is an occasion. 'One time' refers to a time beyond thought, when my mind had completely abandoned all thoughts. The time of samsaric beings is of three types: a time of suffering, a time of great pleasure, and a time beyond thought. During a time overwhelmed by extreme suffering, no matter what is heard, no recollection arises, because the force of suffering obscures memory. Nor is it so when the mind is infatuated with pleasure, because then too no recollection arises, due to extreme infatuation. Therefore, what arises in the moment of abandoning these two states can be remembered; 'one time' is that very time beyond thought. Therefore, having abandoned all thoughts, I heard what the Bhagavan said. This is the meaning of my speaking as it is, the meaning of truly gathering it together. It may also be challenged thus: How can recollection arise later of what was heard at a time devoid of all thought? Why is recollection called conceptualization, while being without thought is having no thought at all? Therefore,

That is not correct. Here, the time beyond thought should be taken by worldly people. At any time, one should not think of anything other than the attention that clearly distinguishes the meaning of words. Because when the mind becomes a mind of many thoughts, that thought will not occur in the same way as the memory that clearly arises from one object. Therefore, here, the time beyond thought should be understood as the mind that completely abides only in the thought of manifest desire. Otherwise, the time beyond the thought of ultimate truth should be abandoned. Because at any time, when one has transcended all thoughts of grasping and being grasped, since that is also the awareness of oneself and others, how can memory and so on arise? It is said that in a place where the Blessed One taught the thusness, it was heard as follows. In the words "all tathagatas" and so on, all aspects of the nature of body, speech, and mind of all tathagatas are transformed into the form of Vajra Woman. When the Blessed One was dwelling in the bhaga (藏文,梵文:bhaga,梵文罗马拟音:bhaga,汉语字面意思: भग,auspiciousness) of that, the place of great bliss, it is said that he taught the Dharma in this way. The meaning is that all the tathagatas became the Vajra Woman's bhaga (藏文,梵文:bhaga,梵文罗马拟音:bhaga,汉语字面意思: भग,auspiciousness), and the Blessed One dwelt in the state of supreme nirvana and taught in this way. Bhaga (藏文,梵文:bhaga,梵文罗马拟音:bhaga,汉语字面意思: भग,auspiciousness) is the place where all defilement habits are completely removed, and in order to experience the taste of supreme joy, the tathagatas are established as the nature of women, and in order to benefit sentient beings whose minds are completely defiled by the habits of objects, they teach in this way. Therefore, they also emanate to dwell in the bhaga (藏文,梵文:bhaga,梵文罗马拟音:bhaga,汉语字面意思: भग,auspiciousness) of women, and in order to liberate sentient beings who follow great desire and are completely defiled by attachment to objects, the Blessed One initiates in this way. Therefore, bodhisattvas should not be afraid of objects as the cause of the wisdom of enlightenment, and they should not block or abandon their doors. The Tathagata
