Perfectly pure mindfulness is the western gate. As it is said: 'In this western direction, desire and diligence, abiding wisdom, and miraculous feet, those are the gates of mindfulness.' Thus it is said. Likewise, the previously mentioned objects, for those who have abandoned discrimination, with mind manifestly pleased and joyful, the object of focus, the Dharma endowed with the wheel of mindfulness, directed towards manifest discrimination, is the opposite of those who exhaust disbelief and so forth. For mindfulness, the characteristic of one-pointedness of mind, samadhi manifests and transforms, its nature of purity is the northern gate. This also: 'Faith, diligence, mindfulness, and meditation, wisdom, power, unequaled, samadhi is the northern gate.' Thus it is said. Therefore, when the other five, such as faith, become the nature of a clear object, they become known as the five powers. The purity of these is, in order, the four wrathful deities who rely on the exhaustion of the Lord of Death and so forth. What is said is unreasonable, because those who have become powers are also shown to be the nature of the purity of the northern gate. Furthermore, the meaning of the noble ones, such as 'Faith and diligence are completely pure,' is also not understood by them. The four dhyanas of arising, the first and so forth, and the four dhyanas of absorption, the first and so forth, these eight dhyanas are manifestly collected and shown as the four dhyanas. Whichever has the four chariots due to its purity, that is called the chariot of the four dhyanas. Samadhi is of four types, called courageous going, treasury of space, stainless, and lion's complete extension. These are the periphery, and it is also the one who has the chariot of the four dhyanas, which are completely beautiful and well accomplished by all of them, that is, from all. It is also beautiful from all around with the samadhi periphery, thus holding the work. On that periphery, and so forth, on whichever periphery was just mentioned, on that, truly relying and abiding, holding the supreme offering, filling with offerings such as forms, dances, songs, and musical instruments beyond thought.

Being the basis of increase, namely the collection of the four characteristics of Dharma, meaning, definitive words, and eloquence, each of which is perfectly known, wherever there is a storied building, it is called that. Because it is close to all the necessities of the Dharma, it fulfills the intention of manifesting desires and so on, and in order to show that purity, that storied building is decorated with all kinds of ornaments. Those to be tamed are the beings who should be tamed. For the sake of those (beings), the nine branches that are erected and displayed are: Sutra, Geya, Vyakarana, Gatha, Udana, Nidana, Avadana, Itivrittaka, Jataka, Vaipulya, Adbhutadharma, and the scriptures of the nature of the teachings. That sacred Dharma itself is called universal movement, because it causes (beings) to enter and be included in it. White, purple, black, smoky, red, variegated, yellow, and green banners, the rows of banners erected in places such as the direction of power, and the bells on the banners moved by the wind make sounds in all directions, and whatever has a tent is called that. For what reason, the nine branches of scriptures erected for those to be tamed, that sacred Dharma is universally practiced, what is that storied building, because of that purity, the bells of the rows of banners blown by the wind make sounds at the doors of all directions. Among those called wisdom mirror and so on, the sound of wisdom is holding wisdom like a mirror, because the mirror is close to the meaning of representation. It is also a mirror of wisdom, as well as the seven limbs of enlightenment, discrimination of Dharma, diligence, meditation, mindfulness, joy, tranquility, and equanimity. That is constantly immaculate, and it is also a limb of enlightenment, and it is also flower joy, from which it is held. Because of the cause of obtaining those perfections, that pure nature is unparalleled, because there are nets and so on.

Yes, but there are no such multi-storied buildings. Regarding the so-called eight liberations, liberation is turning away, meaning to be free from desire. That is, there are eight aspects: viewing forms with forms, with mastery, and with complete pervasion, etc., is called the first liberation. Without internal form, viewing external forms as before is called the second liberation. These are of an impure nature, because they are of the nature of mastery, etc. These two, according to their number, act in desire, and are the antidotes to the two desires of the first dhyana itself, so they are the first and second dhyanas. Experiencing the beautiful liberation in another place with the body, and abiding by cultivating it, is called the third liberation, the beautiful liberation exists in the fourth dhyana. This is also of a non-attachment nature, not of an impure nature, because it is of a beautiful aspect. The fourth liberation is formless. The so-called formless, these liberations are also merely virtuous samadhi, not afflicted like the state of death, etc., so they are not non-samadhi either. The cessation of perception and feeling is the eighth liberation, because the cessation attainment is turning away from perception and feeling. Thus, purified by the eight liberations, it is adorned like the eight pillars of divine substance. That is, adorned and decorated with the eight pillars of wheels, etc., it is like the heavenly realm, so it is a divine substance. The vajra way is the mantra way, because the wheel of dharma is turned through it, so it is the vajra line, completely corresponding to the vajra garland. Regarding the so-called form, etc., by mentioning "etc.," it includes taste, smell, touch, and sound. These objects themselves, from the perspective of seeing the near shore, it is unreasonable to consider them merely as the nature of objects, so these are pure, because they are the cause of being separate from the nature of purity, so it is desire.
