That which is indicated by the words that explain the profound meaning, just as it is, is neither known nor understood. Therefore, for the sake of beings like jewels, and in order to take care of beings like sandalwood, please reveal that true meaning, thus requesting, this is the meaning of the words. After the request, the Bhagavan said: Then, the Lord Bhagavan, Vairochana the Great Sage, said "Good" three times, and said this to Vajrapani: The Suchness of the Unthinkable Meaning, I will explain in detail. The Lord is the sixth. Because it destroys afflictions such as desire, it is the Bhagavan, this is the meaning of the words. Because it is related to bhaga (梵文), it is the generator of beings, so it is the Bhagavan, this is the external meaning. Because bhaga (梵文) causes the mind of enlightenment to abide in form, so it is the Bhagavan, this is the hidden meaning. Non-dual wisdom is the destroyer, because it possesses it, so it is the Bhagavan, this is the ultimate meaning. The Great Vajradhara then said, Vairochana is the Great Vairochana. Because of knowing and understanding the three wisdoms, it is the Sage, this is the hidden meaning. After giving "Good" to Vajrapani, he said these words. Because it is a supreme question, he answered three times. The Unthinkable Meaning, that is, the Suchness of the mantras, the ultimate truth, the Suchness of the mantras will be explained and proclaimed. Explaining in detail, this is not only the Suchness of the mantras, but also the collection of mantras, the meaning of mantras, and the symbols of mantras will be explained, this is the meaning of the words. To this, first make a brief indication: Saying and object, symbol establishment and ultimate truth. Because it is said and ten are to be taken from the root letters, so saying is saying, that is, the collection of mantras. Because the nature of what is to be said is to be understood and contemplated through the mantras that are said, so the object is the meaning of the mantra. Symbol establishment is the name. The ultimate truth is Suchness, that is, the reality of sound. Explanation is the common expression of words, object

ka kha ga gha nga,ca cha ja jha nya,ṭa ṭha ḍa ḍha ṇa,ta tha da dha na,pa pha ba bha ma,ya ra la wa,sha sha sa ha,这样就是九。那么,安住在九个部类之中的是什么呢?是十,即是那九个部类和自身。

That is the Buddha himself. What is called "symbol" is mantra. The ultimate meaning is suchness. Thus it is said. Common, such as essence and near essence, etc., and in all treatises such as worldly and transworldly, etc., the root letters that pervade like the thread in a garland of jewels, from which mantras can be extracted. That is expressed in words, that is, extracting mantras as they are. What is called "object of focus" is the suchness of all Buddhas such as Vairochana, that is, its own nature. The meanings of Om, etc., are in order body vajra, etc. Similarly, the meaning of the root letters is also method and wisdom due to the distinction of vowels and consonants. Similarly, others should also be understood, this is the general meaning. What is called "symbol" is mantra, this is the name of mantra, such as illusion, headless, endless, collection, etc. The detailed distinctions of these should be understood from the differences in actions, that is, understood as they are. What is called "ultimate meaning" is suchness, it should be understood that it is the clear light free from all elaborations. Thus it is said, that is the ultimate. Now explain separately. First, one is in the middle of nine, what is not bound by ten, that is called unbound, now understand the supreme place. Thus it is said, one is temporarily the letter "A." That is the first, that is, the cause from which all root letters arise. The name is also truly spoken, from "A is the most excellent of all letters" thus it is said. Nine, that is, in the categories of root letters, abiding in the nature of pervading. Without it, it cannot be expressed, such as "because there is no vowel," etc. Among them, there are two types of vowel categories. A i u ṛ ḷ e o aṃ are the short vowel categories. Ā ī ū ṝ ḹ ai au āḥ are the long vowel categories. ka kha ga gha ṅa, ca cha ja jha ña, ṭa ṭha ḍa ḍha ṇa, ta tha da dha na, pa pha ba bha ma, ya ra la wa, śa ṣa sa ha, thus there are nine. So, what dwells in the middle of those nine categories? It is ten, that is, those nine categories and itself.

Unbound is not pervaded by them, but it pervades them. The yogi who knows that is unbound, knowing and realizing all the collections of mantras bound by the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A). That yogi is the supreme state, knowing the suchness of the three letters arising from it, this is its meaning, the meaning of the letters. For a moment, one is the dharmakaya of the nature of emptiness of all things. Nine, residing in the midst of the five aggregates and the four great elements, but ten, not bound or obscured by the discriminations of the senses and objects, because the dharmakaya is naturally pure. That is unbound, not overcome by the discriminations of afflictions and cognitive obscurations, the yogi who knows this is the supreme state, the Buddha himself of the nature of the dharmakaya. Knowing means realizing and attaining, this is the general meaning. Or, for a moment, one is the Bhagavan's dragon sound, the seed syllable of the mind Vajradhara. That is nine, the four mandalas of the nature of earth, water, fire, and wind, likewise the hidden places of square, round, triangular, and bow-like shapes, the heart, the navel, and the secret place, eight, the ninth is the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) residing in the head and so on. Ten, them and self. Unbound, not entering the path of discriminations of the order of the winds. Such is this unbound, what is known by the recitation of natural purity is the supreme state, the suchness of abandoning entering and so on. Knowing means manifesting, this is the general meaning. In the Sutra of the Questions of Dharmadhatu it is also said: Headless resides in the lotus of the heart, the head resides in the lotus of the mouth, sound resides in the secret lotus, the edge of sound resides in the lotus of the navel. Or, one is for a moment the umbrella of desire, this is its root. That itself is first, because it pervades from the door of Brahma to the secret place. Nine, pervading in the midst of the eight-petaled lotus and the navel.
