Examining body, speech, and mind is examining their very nature. This is recitation, referred to as meaningful recitation. Meaningful recitation is explained in terms of its meaning. Understanding the meaning refers to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who know all things. Reciting with the belief that "they must hear it by all means," wishing the words of the mantra to be very clear, is understanding the meaning of recitation. Absence of inherent existence is the good ground of abandoning conceptualization, examining the Buddhas of the three times with the mind, and reciting with them as the object. This is the recitation of the wrathful deities who are as firm as a vajra. It is vajra recitation and is called the recitation of the wrathful deities. This is the recitation of the wrathful deities, explained in terms of its meaning. Understanding the meaning refers to life and diligence, etc. Reciting after abandoning their direction, place, time, color, and shape is understanding the meaning of recitation. Therefore, since it is the nature of being separated from all aspects, it is without inherent existence. Since it is the nature of peace, it is good. The three times are entering, abiding, and arising. The Buddhas are the winds. Examining them is understanding the thusness of emptiness of all things. This is vajra recitation, called the recitation of a hermaphrodite. This is the recitation of a hermaphrodite, explained in terms of its meaning. Thus, there are eleven types of vajra recitation. Now, here is another classification. Eating alms but not reciting, one should not delight in begging. Enjoying all desires, reciting without diminishing the limbs of the mantra. Thus it is said, and the meaning is as follows. Eating alms means not acting with a base mind. One should not delight in begging, which means one should be content with whatever food one obtains and should not be attached to food. Reciting without diminishing the limbs of the mantra means there is no difference from the yoga of the deities. At that time, the yogi will enjoy all desires, which is the straightforward meaning. Alternatively, begging is the letters with various forms. Eating them means speaking them, so one should not recite. Begging is
