In the assembly, due to arrogance, one does not listen, and in one's own home, one looks at books, thinking, "I know everything," this self-satisfaction is accompanied by supernal arrogance. If one out of a hundred people goes to listen, at that time, without faith, they listen with methods, saying, "I have doubts about this." After that, it is an inferior empowerment, not having received the correct empowerment from the guru, for that kind of student, the stages, that is, the stages of Vajra recitation, even talking, that is, chatting, should not be taught. An excellent disciple is: Whoever has respect and faith in the guru, Always diligently strives to listen respectfully, Able to comprehend what is heard, an excellent guru, There is no need to examine the guru's grace. Thus it is said, any student who has faith in the Dharma and has respect for the guru who teaches it, respectfully listens to what they want to hear, and strives for that purpose, that is, has diligence, is able to comprehend what is heard, that is, is not satisfied with hearing, and repeatedly familiarizes themselves with what is heard, for such a person, an excellent guru, that is, the supreme guru. The guru's grace is what should be received. There is no need to examine, that is, there is no need to observe, that means it should be received immediately, this is not (my) intention, but it is said like this. Now, in order to clarify the greatness of the guru's kindness: If one falls from the mountain peak, Even if one does not want to fall, one will fall. Having obtained the benefit of the guru's grace, Even if one does not want to be liberated, one will be liberated. Thus it is said, just as if one is distracted and slips, and falls from the mountain peak, that is, the top of a high mountain, that is, slips. That person will definitely fall, that is, slip, because slipping itself is the cause of death, even if one does not want to fall, but because it is a high mountain, one will definitely fall. Similarly, because of the guru's grace, that is, the help of the Vajra master, helping, that is, being closely connected with the correct path, and being free from the guru's concealment, one who obtains through the instructions, that is, the oral instructions, even if one says one does not want to be liberated, but even so, one will still be liberated.

, thereby attaining liberation. Having heard that this is the Dharma-nature of things. The practitioner who follows will be liberated at that very moment, so after that only his body remains, like a potter's wheel. As it is said: "When the Lama, well shows non-discrimination, at that time there is liberation, only the body remains." And so on. As it is word for word. The explanation of the Five Stages, from the Garland of Jewels, is the stage of Vajra Recitation, this is the first. Second, the stage of complete purification of the mind. Now, in order to explain the stage of complete purification of the mind, first is prostration. I prostrate to you, I bow to you. I prostrate to you, prostrate and bow. How to praise and prostrate to you? What to praise and to whom to praise? It is said. The Tibetan words, "O Bhagavan Great Vajradhara," should be extracted from within. In this way, hearing, and subsequent inference, and extracting from within, the meaning of the three sutras will be explained. Among them, hearing is the direct object, for example: "Protector, the nature of all sentient beings, I pay homage to the glorious Great Bliss." There, just as the word "Great Bliss" is obtained, which expresses Vajradhara. Subsequent inference is to understand through a sign that can be inferred. What is to be understood by inference of a special word, even what does not exist will be understood. For example, in the stage of union: "Protector, the nature of cause and effect." Just as through the distinction of the nature of cause and effect, other words are unreasonable, so it is inferred that it is only the Great Vajradhara. The word "the nature of cause and effect" does not directly show, but is like the words Vajrasattva and so on. Here, the word "Vajradhara" is not heard, nor is it inferred by the power of sound that has become its specialty. However, there is a word of prostration, therefore the word Vajradhara, which should be praised, is extracted from within. What is called "extracting from within" is to examine the sound that is not there.

Now, I prostrate with body, speech, and mind. Adding four expressions of the word "prostration" is to explain the excellence of faith. Sentient beings with emotions such as joy and fear, their speakers will also praise and denigrate. If the words are not one-time, then there will be no fault of repetition. Just like this, for wonder, argument, anger, frustration, certainty, faith, and rejoicing, a word can be said twice. It is said so. How do I prostrate to you? Just like praising, praising in the way it is, and the place of praise and praising, the three wheels are pure and without object, just like this praising. Because the body, speech, and mind actions of the Bodhisattva, all with attachment, will only become merit, while without attachment, it will become the accumulation of merit and wisdom. Therefore, it is said (in the sutra): Who is praising, and who is being praised? Because of prostrating without object, there is nothing worthy of praise for the praiser and the praised. From the praise without object, praising like that can become praise, otherwise it is not true praise. All dharmas are emptiness, who is praising, and who is being praised? You who have abandoned birth and death, can I praise you? Having abandoned good and bad destinies, without coming and going, it is impossible to praise. And so on, it is the meaning of uprightness. Or, prostrating to you is the nature of Vairochana Buddha.
