Knowing "this woman is cunning," to dispel his doubts, speak gently, saying it is not so. If (he) gets angry and leaves in anger, that is fleeing. If you see your own guru in the assembly, that is, in the midst of the crowd, turn your back on (the guru), that is, cover your head and hide. If you go to a secluded place and see (the guru) alone in a hidden place, you will prostrate and bow to him. Therefore, do not bestow favors on him. Such a low disciple with a bad nature, even if he is one's own son, and is taken by the noble ones, whether born of the Brahmin caste, the Kshatriya caste, or the most noble caste, should never be allowed to be near. Thus it is said. Such a bad disciple named Chandana, if he is one's own son, and is not given by others, nor is he false, but is born of oneself, born of oneself, but if he has the faults mentioned earlier, and has a bad nature, he should not be allowed to be near, he should not be allowed to be near, nor should the Dharma be taught to him. Similarly, the third type of people, such as the Brahmin caste, are suitable vessels for the highest Dharma, and these people are also taken by the noble ones, that is, they are loved by the noble ones, but if they have the faults mentioned earlier, they should not be allowed to be near. This is the literal meaning. A person like a precious jewel is: possessing excellent qualities and diligence, then respecting the guru and his retinue, seeing them as Buddhas, understanding the Dharma of the Buddhas, and being very devoted to the teachings. Such a person is a vessel for the Dharma, and favors should be bestowed on him. Thus it is said. Excellent qualities refer to discipline and so on, possessing these qualities. Wisdom refers to the gradual realization through hearing and so on, and because one possesses wisdom, one is wise. Liking virtuous Dharma is being diligent. Similarly, treating the guru's retinue with respect, that is, the Vajra Master and his retinue, seeing them as Buddhas, similarly, understanding the Dharma of the Buddhas, the three pitakas, and greatly liking and believing in the path taught by the Bhagavan, such a person is a suitable vessel for the oral instructions.

It is said, "One must bestow kindness upon them," which is the literal meaning. Now, the characteristics of one like a lotus. Even though one has heard extremely many tantras and is skilled in the scriptures, if one's service and respect before the guru are deficient and one has not received the oral instructions, that one cannot benefit oneself either, one is only famous for one's teachings. That one's teachings will only become a cause for sorrow. It is said. First, having heard the sutras, the vinaya, and the abhidharma, one is skilled and proficient in the sutras of the Great Vehicle sutras. Then, through the sequence of the action and other tantras, even though one has heard many tantras, nevertheless, one's service and respect before the guru who possesses oral instructions are deficient and not steadfast, therefore one has not heard the oral instructions and does not know the correct oral instructions, that one is only famous for one's teachings, therefore one is said to be famous for one's teachings. That one cannot benefit oneself, because one is impoverished of the wealth of oral instructions, therefore one is not capable. That one's hearing of many teachings only becomes a cause for sorrow, becomes a cause for suffering, because one argues with others every day, and also has not found the extremely peaceful taste of meditation. Therefore, that one is also not suitable as a vessel for the sequential oral instructions. This is the literal meaning. Now, a person like a white lotus, from then on becomes fortunate and that one obtains the oral instructions, but, if someone's intelligence is dull and cannot gather the meanings, possesses the intelligence to benefit others, is proficient in the teachings, but the qualities of speech are deficient, that one will also be despised. It is said. If a disciple possesses the accumulation of merit, therefore becomes fortunate, because the accumulation of wisdom is preceded by the accumulation of merit. Even if one has obtained the oral instructions of the accumulation of wisdom, nevertheless, that one also has some faults of one's own. For example, because one lacks innate wisdom, therefore one's intelligence is dull. Therefore, because one lacks wisdom, one cannot gather the meaning of whatever one has slightly obtained through the sequence of the four wisdoms. If one cannot gather, then, if one has other
