To. Having abandoned both conceptualization and attachment, this is called complete purification. Abandoning conceptualization and attachment, only the nature of wind remains, which is the cause of fatigue. Thus, the six methods refer to this line of reasoning. Six refers to the six methods. In brief, it refers to the concise method itself. Recollecting exhaling and inhaling means that the entering air is inhaling, and the exiting air is exhaling. Recollecting these is to closely manifest them. Thus, after explaining the brief instruction on recollecting exhaling and inhaling, in order to show the extensive explanation, and to show the nature of counting its branches, it is said, "First, life and downward cleansing, etc." First, temporarily focus on the illusory body arising from intention, and completely abandon the number of interruptions, excesses, and mixtures of life, downward cleansing, etc. Twenty thousand means twenty thousand thousands. One thousand means one thousand thousands. Six hundred means six hundred. The number of days and nights means the number of days and nights. Certain means that the Blessed One taught it to dispel doubt. Thus, after showing the nature of numbers, in order to state the certainty of time, "Thus, the number is the place of attainment," means that with the reasoning just mentioned, in order to obtain the number of twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths, it is said to be the attainment of number. In twenty-seven days, it means that with twenty-seven days, relying on extremely sharp faculties, it is stated with certainty. By following the number, it refers to what was just shown. Number refers to what was shown before. True means abandoning the faults of number. By following means the meaning of doing. Thus, after showing the extensive explanation of number in two ways, in order to extensively explain following, the nature of its branches is shown. "From then on, following becomes repetition," and so on, as said, like the reasoning of a bowstring, or the reasoning of a lute string, after the number. Separate time periods refer to worldly people.

Are there eight divisions of day and night that are known as such? Mostly, it refers to the nature of the divisions of eight hours each. "Separately" means separately and individually. "Following after" means repeating, which means it refers to the breath of all bodies. "The measure of each session" refers to the measure of each session. "Life and effort" refers to measuring according to exhaling and inhaling, and it is related to the number "two thousand seven hundred." "From that, one part of the mandala becomes one hundred and twenty breaths" is the certainty of the Bhagavan. "Where there is one, there are four" is the reasoning, if we measure the mandala of the four great elements with four parts, one mandala becomes nine hundred. These are also tripled by the nature of entering, abiding, and rising, and become two hundred and twenty-seven hundred breaths. "Certainly" refers to one's own experience and the certainty of the Bhagavan's words. "The holder" means to symbolize. Having shown the nature of following in this way, in order to connect with the certainty of time, it is said, "By the manner of completely cutting off." Each mandala, with the number of two hundred and twenty-seven hundred breaths, in the manner of completely cutting off, twenty-seven days and nights, this has been said before. "By the division of the four wheels" refers to the division of fire, wind, earth, and water. "In day and night" refers to each mandala of the sun, each with four mandalas of the number of two hundred and twenty-seven, exceeding eight hundred, ten thousand. The night is also the same. Adding both together becomes twenty-one thousand six hundred, which is the meaning of the words. Having spoken of the following in two ways in this way, in order to show the detailed explanation of abiding, it speaks of the nature of its branches, that is, "From then on, by the effort of abiding," and so on. "From then on" refers to after following. "Abiding" refers to the place where breath arises. "Effort"
