Because if it is said that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who do not manifest the male organ will become female signs. Having the female organ is also not a female sign, because hermaphrodites also have it. Therefore, that characteristic is also uncertain. The statement that "signs are without difference, because they depend on the world" is incorrect, because if it is a sign that depends on the world, then all things should have all signs, like the sounds of walls and houses. Therefore, the characteristics of the male sign and so on are not established by reason. What is said here is that the pervader, the pervaded, and that which is devoid of both are the signs of male, female, and hermaphrodite. Because at the time of entering into samadhi, what is pervaded by the co-emergent bliss is the nature of the mind-stream, and the pervader is the female sign. What is pervaded by great bliss is the male sign. Because there is no pervading and being pervaded by great bliss, that which is devoid of both is the sign of the hermaphrodite, which is the container world. The female sign and so on that exist in the objects of the container world are imputed, because they do not exist in ultimate reality. Similarly, the group of vowels, with the nature of the sixteen parts of the moon, pervades the group to be expressed, thereby satisfying, the nature of wisdom is Āli (藏文：ཨཱ་ལི་，梵文天城体：आलि，梵文罗马拟音：āli，汉语字面意思：Āli), which is the female sign. What is pervaded is what is expressed by them, that is Kāli (藏文：ཀཱ་ལི་，梵文天城体：कालि，梵文罗马拟音：kāli，汉语字面意思：Kāli), which is the male sign of the nature of means. The nature of both pervading and being pervaded is the group of Ya and so on, which is the sign of the hermaphrodite. Therefore, the nature of the female sign is the first and last letters of the vowel group, and when correctly combined, it becomes the letter A of the nature of wisdom. By correctly combining the letters Ka and so on, the nature of means is the letter Hūṃ (藏文：ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Hūṃ), which is the male sign. When the group of Ya and so on is completely transformed, it becomes the letter Oṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ，梵文天城体：ॐ，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ，汉语字面意思：Oṃ). In that, by correctly combining A, U, and Ma, it becomes Oṃ. The letter A is the nature of wisdom.

The letter Ma is the nature of means, because it is to be clarified. The letter Om is the nature of union with it, and is called neuter. For that very reason, it is a sign of the neuter nature of the perfect union of both wisdom and means. Thus, the nature of both male and female signs is the three letters, Om and so on. The word 'equally placed' means that the sound of 'equally placed' is used for the meaning of recitation, because it is not the root meaning of the word. That is, rising and entering day and night, and abiding, means that the life-force air entering inside is entering. Placing the air together with fire in between is abiding. The life-force air moving upwards is rising. Therefore, those three actions of the air should be known as the nature of attracting, inviting to stay, and inviting to depart. Because when the letter Om is uttered, the air will enter internally. When the letter Hum is uttered, it indicates that the air emerges externally. When the letter A is uttered, it indicates that the air remains in between, because air and letters are not different. There, the letters arise from the movement of air, because the air itself makes effort when the letters are uttered. Therefore, air and letters are inseparable due to the relationship of action and agent, or the relationship of benefiting and causing benefit. The actions of the nature of the activity of air, such as entering, are not different from air, because they enter as air and its nature, because that is the characteristic of going, contracting, and extending. As it is said: 'The breath of the letter Om enters inside, the mantra of the letter A abides in between, and the mantra of the letter Hum becomes rising; recite the secret mantra without connecting the palate and lips.' There, reciting with those three aspects of entering, abiding, and rising, which are going, coming, and abiding in between, means that the Vajra recitation, which is the eleven aspects of the great Vajradhara and so on, is said to be that by whatever samadhi is done with the recitation without diminishing the limbs. Recitation without diminishing the limbs is the form of mantra, air, and deity.
