Chapter Three: Extensive Explanation of the Samadhi Called Vajra Arrangement. Chapter Three: Extensive Explanation of the Samadhi Called Vajra Arrangement. From "The two types of yogis," etc., the third chapter on deities will be explained. Why? Because after obtaining emptiness in the chapter on bodhicitta, one should then cultivate the wheel of deities through the generation stage. Similarly, after first combining and perfecting the supreme mandala, one should cultivate subtle yoga in order to clarify the supreme activity. In order for the yogi of the completion stage to cultivate subtle yoga, the sequence of vajra recitation should be explained. The two types of yogis are those of the generation stage and the completion stage. There are two ways to cultivate subtle yoga: the yogi of the generation stage cultivates subtle yoga such as the vajra, and the yogi of the completion stage also cultivates subtle bindus at the secret place, heart, and tip of the nose on the face, according to the divisions of the families of desire, anger, and delusion. Among them, the yogi of the desire family should cultivate a bindu the size of a mustard seed at the tip of the vajra jewel or at the tip of the lotus heart, which is the bindu of bodhicitta that flows through the empty spaces of the seventy-two thousand channels. The yogi of the anger family should gather the parts of the three syllables and focus on the bindu of the seed of the heart vajradhara in the heart, and cultivate the bindu of mantra. Those of the delusion family should cultivate the form of a bindu at the tip of the false nose, with the distinctions of moving right, left, inferior, and slow from the four mandalas, a collection of radiant light. Similarly, the yogis of Ratnasambhava and Amoghasiddhi should also cultivate bindus between the eyebrows and in the middle of the navel, which is to realize subtle yoga. All the Tathagatas are the five aggregates and their collection, such as the body. For the sake of gathering them, the vajra of body, speech, and mind is the great Vajradhara.

Chapter Six. All Tathagatas are Akshobhya and so on, with mudras well practiced as the preliminary, the sequence of mantras extracted, elaborating the samaya mandala and the practice mandala, being the Tathagatas, goddesses, Bodhisattvas, and wrathful deities possessing the nature of thirty-two deities. That they are for the sake of sentient beings means that they act for the benefit of beings. That which is called pervading the ten directions means that from the dharma-arising place of the touchable Vajra Mother, it expands outwards, and goes to the ten directions in order to enter the Buddha-fields such as Abhirati. That which is called raining down the Dharma is only a brief indication. It is for the sake of stability, maturation, liberation, and entering the Buddha-field. That which is called distinguishing by the various thoughts of sentient beings means that those with attachment and so on, following the thoughts of sentient beings, with the distinction of female and male, and the forms of joy, peace, and fierceness, and also with the distinction of bodies possessing charming postures and so on, it is a synonym called elaboration. That which is called arranged for the sake of showing many bodies means that it is for the sake of showing one's own body of three faces and so on, and various families. Because the great Vajradhara alone is the nature of the Dharmadhatu, yet it appears as the distinctions of five colors, peaceful, fierce, male, and female. But from the ultimate truth, there is no distinction, because it is the nature of clear light. That which is called in such a way and so on, is a synonym called possessing the characteristics of the first union and so on. That which is called Vajra is the Tathagatas and so on, means that like Vajra, it is indivisible by the wisdoms such as mirrors. Here, the sound of Tathagata is only a brief indication, therefore, goddesses, Bodhisattvas, and wrathful deities arising from that family should also be included. Thus is called the chapter of the basis of Samadhi. Samadhi is that which has a basis. A chapter is a basis. By making the basis and that which has a basis inseparable, the chapter of Samadhi is thus taught.
