It is clearly shown by discipline and patience. Whoever abandons the vast teachings and goes on the path of hardship for the body, the evil path of solitude, that is, unable to bear the solitude of existence, the infinite beings dwelling under trees, with afflictions transforming like phantoms, pervading the body, will enter into an extremely long cycle of existence. Thus it is said. How is it accomplished? By relying on enjoying all the desires mentioned before, it will be quickly accomplished, because with bliss, the mind will be able to abide in equanimity. Thus it is said. Similarly, in the Vajra Tantras of both worldly and transcendental realms, it is said: Enlightenment is attained through bliss, not through tormenting the body. Because wisdom, through bliss, Buddhas arise from Samadhi. Through austerities such as not eating, tormenting the body like others, and through physical exertion and afflictions, one will not achieve due to distraction. Inferior beings do not achieve, therefore it is inexhaustible and very stable. Thus it is said. Similarly, in the Glorious First (Kalachakra), it is said: I am all the Buddhas, and the sons of the Buddhas are the same. Through the union with one's own deity, therefore, one should cultivate oneself. Through endless ascetic vows, the body becomes painful and dry. Because of suffering, the mind is distracted, and because of distraction, one cannot attain accomplishment. For the stability of mind and body, one becomes stable through one's own bliss. Through suffering, one becomes agitated, and one also obtains opposition. Thus it is said. So, external objects are the cause of afflictions such as desire, and therefore, it is pointed out that they are the cause of being driven into lower realms. Then, what is the cause of enlightenment? Those ignorant ones who do not have correct knowledge, like madmen, say these words, do not say that. Through the difference of methods, enjoying those objects is the cause of enlightenment, but if one relies on them in a reversed way, it is the cause of hell. For example, if a Ketaka flower is eaten by a fragrant elephant, it will turn into musk. If an ordinary person eats other cold food, it will become impure. Similarly, desire and so on, abiding in the pure lineage, will produce extraordinary fruits.

It can function, which is in terms of the distinction of thought. Moreover, for example, if incarnations and others drink milk, it will turn into the nature of poison and so on. If other non-incarnations drink it, it will turn into nectar and so on. Similarly, those such as desire, when combined with special restraints, will give special results, because they themselves are not faults. Here is such a combination: whatever exists in a special lineage, will give special results, such as the Kataka fruit and so on. Desires and so on also exist in a special lineage, which is the reason of self-nature. Here, because it possesses the explanation of all the transformations needed for the special lineage, the ability to produce special results is unimpeded, and only the collection of causes can produce it. Whatever's self-nature is related to that extent, it can function because there is no obstruction. If not, it will not be convincing. Therefore, the special transformation does not depend on others, it only shows the relationship. There is no obstruction to this either, because there is no dependence. There is no dependence because there is nothing else to understand. Therefore, through the certainty of mere relation, the reason of self-nature is shown, and through the same reasoning, desires and so on are also the cause of the yogi's Bodhi, which is an excellent achievement. In the Don Yod Drub Pai Gyud (Tantra of Meaningful Accomplishment) it also says: 'That which binds through ignorance, the wise can also liberate. Thus, by meditating on Bodhi, everything is a blessing of reversal. If an iron ball is put into water, it will surely sink. If made into a vessel, it can save others and oneself.' Therefore, one should explain the very brief conduct, such as 'eat by begging and do not repeat' and so on. Begging is eating external food, and whoever eats it is a beggar. A yogi who eats external food like this should not repeat, that is, should not practice, but should live on the food of meditation.
