The various consciousnesses are established as the nature of the five wisdoms. If you ask, how is it that the six objects, faculties, and consciousnesses are not spoken of? The answer is: the mind faculty is not separate like the eye and other faculties, but only the immediately past consciousness is the nature of generating the subsequent distinction of consciousness, therefore it is called the mind faculty, and its distinctions are mind and mental factors, aspects and their objects, and consciousness. Thus, the non-conceptual ones are the mind faculty and its objects, which are the nature of the five sense consciousnesses. Mental factors are also not different from the minds. It is said: Mental factors are not different from the mind. So it is said. The conceptual ones are the nature of consciousness. Consciousness is: cutting off and connecting, being free from desire, decay and death, transmigration, all are considered to be consciousness. Because of this reason, because it is the main one, it is the enjoyer, and benefits by the enjoyer. It is not established as the nature of wisdom. The supreme wisdom that was previously established exists only in consciousness. What is said as mind, here is for the purpose of thoroughly examining the entire city of things. Thus, through this connection, the eighteen realms are spoken of, and the collection of only these is the twelve sources, and the very collection is the aggregates. The three realms are also only these. That is also only mind, as it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: O sons of the Victorious Ones, thus, the three realms are only mind. So it is said. The noble Nagarjuna also said in the Bodhicitta Explanation: To avert the clinging to self, the aggregates, realms, etc. are taught, that is also only mind established, those with great merit can destroy. So it is said. The mind is also conventional truth, as it is said in that same text: All that the Buddhas have said is only mind, to make children abandon fear, that is not the true nature. So it is said. If you ask, how is it that the mind is not the true nature? The answer is: the two kinds of observation that are spoken of, that is, the nature of things and non-things.

It arises from conceptualization. So, what is the ultimate meaning of the mind that discriminates? It is said: Discrimination means to cause discrimination, therefore, that discrimination, which is the consciousness of the discriminator, is not the object of discrimination there. This is what the holy Shantideva said: What is to be examined and what is examined, and discrimination has no basis. Because there is no basis, it does not arise, and that is what is called Nirvana. Thus it is said. Similarly, when things and non-things do not abide before the mind, then there is no other aspect, therefore, it is completely pacified in the absence of an object. Thus it is said. It is also said in the "King's Garland of Jewels": All phenomena of wandering are considered to be the firewood of the fire of consciousness. By truly discriminating them, they will be burned by the fire and pacified. Thus it is said. How to discriminate between the two? It is said: Starting from "things", things that are not things are not its nature to each other, because they are contradictory. It is said that they exist in the form of otherness. It is said: Both things and non-things are empty. That is to say, the nature of things and non-things are empty. The mind is separated from the nature of non-one, therefore, it is because of the nature of non-self. Thus, it is not one, because one itself will not become a variegated experience that appears as the nature of blue and yellow, and it will lead to the conclusion that all yellow etc. are contained in blue. Blue also, if the former, latter, and middle are different, then it cannot be understood through the coarse appearance. Whatever has directional differences cannot be one. According to this reason, it will appear as only extremely small dust. It is also not non-one, because if the mind is non-one, then it will become the difference of extremely small dust. If one cannot correctly experience something different from this, then each extremely small dust will exist with the nature of self-awareness, therefore, it will lead to the conclusion that only each extremely small dust appears. Both are also unreasonable in nature, because there is no experience of such an aspect. For everything, our view is reliable. Whether the opposite nature exists simultaneously or separately is not something to be understood.
