. Therefore, to answer this question, the Teacher (Buddha) said, "The mind is like a mirror." and so on. Among them, "The mind is like a mirror" means that the mind is a temporary affliction, as pure as a mirror, because its nature is luminosity. Therefore, "The mind has no faults or merits." Here, "faults" refers to afflictions, and "merits" refers to the wisdom of the two paths (the path of accumulation and the path of preparation) that counteract afflictions. The meaning of this sentence is that these two do not exist in the ultimate truth. Such a mind, through the path of grasper and grasped, will become other-powered, becoming the affliction of samsara. The Teacher (Buddha) said, "By joining with objects, it is stained by the faults of samsara." Here, "joining" refers to the six senses such as the eye. "Objects" refers to the six objects such as form. "Joining" refers to the six consciousnesses of entering. Because of these grasper and grasped, the mind is stained by the faults of the afflictions of samsara. Therefore, one should abandon the cause of samsara and rely on the cause of nirvana. The Teacher (Buddha) said, "Starting from dwelling in objects, how to join with dwelling?" It means that, abandoning the inverted things of samsara, one should visualize the truly abiding things of nirvana as a goddess in a non-attached way. Similarly, it is said in the Kunlé Nyonmong or the Kari of Purification: "The nature of other-poweredness is a two-fold characteristic. The aspect of imputation is samsara, the aspect of accomplishment is nirvana." For example, "Like teaching children and students." It means that, for children and students who have no bias towards faults and merits, just as they are trained only in merits from childhood, so that they have correct wisdom, so also should the mind of luminosity be made to realize the correct meaning, so as to attain nirvana. In its middle, it is called "Consciousness is viewed as space." It means that the mind is visualized as the middle of existence and non-existence, and consciousness is always like space, existing in name, but unobtainable in the ultimate truth. If asked what kind of characteristics it has, (it is said below): "Without color and without form."

“All things are real.” That is to say, “it is colorless” means that the mind transcends the senses and is not a thing such as black or yellow, because all things arise only by interdependence. “All things are real” means that the nature of all things also arises from the mind, so all things are real, because there is no external substance. “Unrelated” means that the mind is unobstructed. “Related form” means that the mind also becomes a form with complete limbs, or becomes a vase or cloth, etc. “Formless” refers to the mind and the nature of the Dharma arising from the mind. “All forms” refers to the nature of form, sound, smell, etc. “Not long” means that the Dharma nature has no measure. “Equally long” means that the nature of the Dharma nature is infinite. If you ask: Can the suchness of the mind accomplish the illusory and unreal? Answer: With the suchness of the mind in the middle of existence and non-existence, it can accomplish the self-nature of illusory appearance without reality. This is a summary statement. The so-called “with the signless mind” means that the general nature is emptiness. The so-called “all characteristics should be examined” refers to the nature of oneself, such as the nature of vases and cloths. Now to ask: How should such a mind of self-nature be cultivated? The answer is: “With the object of unreal cultivation, that cultivation should be examined.” It means that with the ultimate
