Furthermore, for practitioners of yoginis, according to their coarse, medium, and subtle faculties, various methods should be applied as appropriate, also for the purpose of extending life, etc. "Etc." includes serous fluid, etc. The increase or decrease of wind, etc., is itself illness. Among these, filling, thinning, contracting, moving, and swelling are the five characteristics of wind. Generating attachment, warmth, splendor, impurity, and heat is the characteristic of bile. Connecting joints, producing phlegm and oiliness, heaviness, and stability are the characteristics of phlegm. What satisfies is serous fluid. What nourishes is blood. Muscle stabilizes the exterior. Fat makes it oily. What is hard and holds is bone. What fills the cavities is marrow. What increases vigor and holds life is semen. What causes pain in the bladder area is urine. Located in the burning place, holding fire and wind, what satisfies is feces. What stabilizes the skin is dust. What takes food is essence. What makes the breasts hard and plump is breasts. The sixteen subtle bodily energies burn and hold life. These are the characteristics of the sixteen bodily energies, such as wind. Their decrease and increase arise from a state of disharmony. Now, the decrease and exhaustion will be explained. Among these, the decrease of wind causes little speech, weak limbs, a dull mind, and falling into a stupor. The decrease of bile causes low external temperature, diminished internal heat, and loss of radiance. The decrease of phlegm causes abdominal heat, mental agitation, a pale abdomen, and empty pulses. The decrease of serous fluid causes the body to be emaciated, heart palpitations, trembling, and loss of appetite. The exhaustion of blood causes the body to lose radiance, the skin to dry out, the pulses to slacken, and the mind to sink. The exhaustion of muscle causes the buttocks and thighs to shrink, lower back pain, nausea, and emaciation. The exhaustion of fat causes increased phlegm, creaking joints, a pale abdomen, and loose muscles. The exhaustion of bone causes bone pain.

Teeth and nails lose their luster and become rough. Exhaustion of the feet leads to a decrease in semen, pain in the lower back, and dizziness. Exhaustion of semen leads to pain in the urethra and penis, inability to engage in sexual activity, semen taking a long time to produce, and semen appearing thin and gritty. Exhaustion of urine leads to stinging in the urethra and a small amount of urine. Exhaustion of feces leads to pain in the heart and ribs, difficulty breathing, and stiffness in the waist. Exhaustion of dust leads to goosebumps and reduced skin sensation. Exhaustion of essence leads to stiffness in the abdomen, thinness of the body, and weakness in the waist. Exhaustion of lactation leads to atrophy and pain in the breasts. Exhaustion of the subtle essence of the body leads to dullness of the senses and weakening of the wind element. In order to nourish the mind and generate heat, therefore, the causes of exhaustion of the ultimate subtle essences of the body, such as wind, and the substances that nourish them in order to nourish the mind and generate heat, will be explained. Therefore, substances with the qualities of clarity, astringency, lightness, roughness, and hardness are the common causes of wind, and these are also combined with astringent taste. Moreover, coldness manifestly increases coldness. Similarly, astringency becomes more astringent. Lightness becomes lighter. Roughness becomes rougher. Hardness becomes harder. For bile, the qualities of sharpness, astringency, lightness, and roughness are its common causes, and the taste is combined with heat. Moreover, sharpness becomes sharper. Astringency becomes more astringent. Roughness becomes rougher. For phlegm, the qualities of sweetness, oiliness, heaviness, coldness, and dullness are its causes, and the taste is combined with sweetness. Moreover, sweetness becomes sweeter. Oiliness becomes oilier. Heaviness becomes heavier. Coldness becomes colder. Dullness becomes duller. Now, I will explain the incompatible causes. Therefore, hot taste is incompatible with phlegm, because hot taste overwhelms sweet taste. Similarly, astringency is the enemy of oiliness. Lightness is the enemy of heaviness.
