Apart from having limbs, one has not seen the one who holds the limbs. For example, for all things such as vases and cloths, apart from the belly and neck, etc., and the raw materials and spun threads, one never experiences vases and cloths, etc., as having limbs at all times. Numerous atoms are also not objects of perception, because when they become objects of perception, the atoms do not touch each other, but are held together only by the power of proximity, as the Vaibhashikas acknowledge. Or, do they become objects of perception when they touch each other and stay together? Since contact and non-contact are contradictory, a third possibility does not exist. Moreover, subtle atoms are also not objects of perception, because those who see nearby cannot grasp them. These are also acknowledged by the opponents themselves, as they say, the five aggregates of consciousness are focused on accumulation. Those assembled ones are also not objects of perception, because they are not substances. Why is that? Because atoms have not been established as substances. If atoms were established as substances, then they would either be separate or assembled to become objects of perception, but if they are not established, then what is the point of this examination? Likewise, it is said: It is not an object of perception even if it is one, nor is it many atoms, nor are they assembled, because atoms cannot be established. How can they not be established? If the assembly of atoms is a state of mutual contact and combination, then for the atom located in the center, the atoms located in the six directions will combine, will they combine from different directions? Or will they combine from one direction? If they combine from different directions, then the atom located in the center, the difference of the combiner

Because wherever the six gather, one space can turn all objects into mere dust. Why? Because there is no difference between them. Just like this, because all ultimate atoms have no difference, so no objects like Mount Sumeru appear. Just like it is also said in the scriptures: When the six combine simultaneously, the ultimate atom becomes six parts. One space of these six can turn an object into an ultimate atom. It is said like this. Having parts and having many parts are also acceptable, simultaneously refuting the object itself. Because the view that all dharmas are without self-nature is fundamental, so in order to establish the root of the reason for separating one and many from the root of all things, the ultimate atom, it is said in the Madhyamaka-alankara: Now let's say a little, just like it is said in it: Combining or surrounding, or residing without gaps is also acceptable. From the center, observing one ultimate atom, what is the nature of what is seen? Observing other ultimate atoms is also, if it is said to be the same, if it is like that, then how do earth, water, etc. grow? It is said like this. The meaning of this is: Among the atoms residing in the ten directions, the ultimate atom located in the center, observing the part of the ultimate atom residing in the east, if the remaining directions ༄། །The ultimate atoms residing in are also observed in this way, then at that time, because that part is observed, just like the ultimate atoms residing in the east, those residing in the remaining directions will not exist as they are. Therefore, because there are no various parts, how do things like the mandala of the earth grow? If it is thought that the parts observing others are different, then just like the number of things observed, the parts of the observer will also become ten. Therefore, it should be added that there is neither one nor many. Because that depends on it. Like this, because the ultimate atom itself has no self-nature, so the substances with parts observed by outsiders, etc., and everything like eye and form are without self-nature, and can be established effortlessly, just like it is also said in the scriptures: The ultimate atom is established as without self-nature, therefore eye and substance, etc., those who say I and he, self-nature
