Oh! These abide in the parts of the body and perform the functions of the body. The five winds perform the functions of the faculties and sense bases. The so-called life-wind abides in the heart and is immovable. The downward-clearing wind abides in the anus and is the jewel-topped. The upward-moving wind abides in the throat and is Amitabha. The fire-cohabiting wind abides in the navel and is Amoghasiddhi. The pervasive wind abides in all the joints and is Vairochana. The moving wind is form. The completely moving is sound. The correctly moving is smell. The exceedingly moving is taste. The definitely moving is touch. Again, these ten winds, with the distinction of the four mandalas, are E-VAM-MA-YA. In that order, the goddesses such as Buddha-eye, the five elements such as earth, the five wisdoms such as mirror-like, the five rays of light such as white, the arising, entering, and abiding in the manner of vajra recitation, and purifying with three letters, etc., accomplish everything. Blazing upwards is fire. Flowing downwards is water. Abiding horizontally is earth. Moving directly is wind. In the four directions, arising clockwise is earth. YA-VA-LA-RA. In the corners, entering counterclockwise is YA-RA-LA-VA. In the center is A. The mandala of arising subtle parts, where the realm of phenomena touches, expands in an inexpressible way, and upwards performs the work of benefiting sentient beings, is the nature of compassion. Gathering in the order of destruction, entering inward counterclockwise, is the nature of emptiness, without characteristics. Such movement to the right, etc., is sixteen times, according to the view of some tantras. Here, omitting the last vowel, it is fifteen times. This is also when day and night are equally divided, with eight movements in the day and night. In this regard, considering each of the skillful means movement and the wisdom movement, there are thirty-two times, and omitting the last vowel, there are thirty times. As previously mentioned, one day and night has twenty-four divisions, twelve progressions, six periods, four watches, three times, and two progressions, thus transforming into a year. In that, the human breath, counting both inhalation and exhalation as one, is twenty-one thousand six hundred times.

Thus, one day and one night. One part of twenty-one thousand six hundred is the breathing in and out of the body-born insects, which is called a subtle breath. Six of those subtle breaths are one water-clock for the body-born insects and other beings. Sixty water-clocks are one hour. Sixty hours are one day and one night. The number of breaths taken by humans and body-born beings on their respective days is twenty-one thousand six hundred. The combined breaths of thirty days for humans are the breaths of one day and one night for the pretas. The waxing and waning moons for humans are the daytime and nighttime for the pretas. Three hundred and sixty breaths of humans are one breath of the gods. Twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths of humans are one breath of the Paranirmitavasavartin gods. One year of breaths for humans is one breath of the Akanistha gods. The breath-sphere of twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths of humans is one breath of beings who have approached the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. With the order of six: subtle breath, month, hour, day and night, year, time, and twenty-one thousand six hundred, the days and nights of the body-born, humans, spirits, gods, asuras, Akanistha, and the formless higher realms are all the same. As explained above, from the body-born to the formless higher realms, their respective twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths will become the sun. These measures of Akanistha, in human years, the wheel-turning king and the Dharma wheel of the Buddha will rotate upwards. This was spoken by the first Buddha. Now, from the perspective of the classification of breaths such as subtle breaths, the previous classification of bodies will be explained. Here, after the sun has passed, for beings such as the body-born, twenty-four and a half months, each with nine hundred and ninety breaths, become a year. One thousand eight hundred and one thousand eight hundred breaths, from the days and nights of twelve months, become a year. Three hundred and sixty thousand and three hundred and sixty thousand breaths, from days and nights, become a year.
