Beginning with the supreme hand seal on the head and extending to the end of the feet, one should properly touch oneself, thus purifying the body. After purifying the mouth and so on in this way, one should fully realize the Tathagatas in the depths of the sky with the vajra rays of light on the lunar mandala, and for the purpose of offering to those expansive victors, one should also summon those rays of light and contemplate them entering into the lunar vajra in one's own heart. Then, on the lunar mandala, one should contemplate the seed syllables of the twelve offering goddesses. ka kh ga gha nga (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), ka kh ga gha ngaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), ca cha ja jha nya (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), ca cha ja jha nyaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), ta tha da dha na (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), ta tha da dha naa (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), pa pha ba bha ma (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), pa pha ba bha maa (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), ta tha da dha na (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), ta tha da dha naa (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), sha sha sa ha ksha (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese), sha sha sa ha kshaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning in Chinese). These seed syllables give rise to the offering goddesses, namely, the Playful One, the Dancer, the Fragrant One, the Garland Bearer, the Incense Bearer, the Lamp Bearer, the Food Bearer, the Unimpaired One, the Seductive One, the Laughing One, the Singing One, and the Desiring One, and so forth. One should make offerings to the Tathagatas with these and other goddesses, according to the ritual described in the Empowerment Chapter. Then, according to the order that will be explained, one should first confess the many accumulated sins, and then the practitioner should take refuge in the Three Jewels with a pure body, speech, and mind, which is certain. Now, after confessing sins, one should rejoice in merit. Whatever manifold virtues are performed by the perfect Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the assembly of noble ones, the mantra practitioner, free from sins and abiding in the practice of enlightenment, rejoices in all of them. Then, one takes refuge in the Three Jewels: "I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha until enlightenment, even from the terrors of existence." Having thus gone for refuge to the Three Jewels and offered one's own possessions, one should then make aspirations for the sake of sentient beings: "May I become a perfect Buddha." Here, for the sake of sentient beings, I make aspirations, I practice. Thus, prostrations, offerings, confession of sins, rejoicing in merit, urging the Tathagatas, making requests, and fully dedicating merit—these are it.
