Visualize the red syllable hrīḥ (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, Literal meaning: Shame) transforming into an eight-petaled lotus. On the petals of the tongue, visualize the white syllable hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Seed syllable) transforming into a white vajra. Bless it with "Om Vajra Jihva." It dissolves into it, generating faith in the vajra nature. Recite with wrathful speech or vajra speech, according to the instructions of one's own guru. Among them, the wrathful speech is: Clouds arise, thunder roars, the syllable hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Seed syllable). The profound vajra speech is firm. The wrathful one appears as great wrath. Vajra speech is thus accomplished. So it is said. Vajra speech is: The tip of the tongue does not move much, the teeth and lips are joined, applied to all thoughts, the vajra speech is broad in sound. So it is said. Moreover, the common limb is said in the "Collected from All Thoughts": When reciting, do not be angry. Do not be happy with the nature of objects. Renounce cowardice, displeasure, and fear. Renounce stinginess and pride completely. When reciting, do not think of anything. Do not move the limbs. When thoughts are moved by the wind, do not think of anything. Except for the deity of the mantra, even the supreme yogi, when reciting, do not grasp thoughts and think of them. So on and so forth. How much siddhi will be accomplished by entering in this way? Depending on the rosary: The wise should recite the number of syllables in the secret mantra, for numbers less than fifteen, as many hundred thousands of recitations as there are syllables. If the number of syllables is thirty-two, it is said that three hundred thousand recitations should be done. If the number of syllables is more than that, then first perform the approach recitation ten thousand times. Even without first performing the approach recitation, most activities will be accomplished. So it is said. Where does it depend on time? In the perfect age (referring to the time of perfect completeness), recite the number of syllables one hundred thousand times. The mantra practitioner of the two-fold age recites two hundred thousand times. In the three-fold age, it becomes three times that. In the four-fold age (the age of strife), add four million three hundred thousand times. So it is said. Depending on the basis: In some tantras, it is said that one should recite the mantra one hundred million times no matter what. I say that those of medium merit should recite one hundred thousand times. Those of great merit will accomplish it very quickly by reciting ten thousand times. Thus spoke the lord of the great Vajradhara tantra.

Thus I have heard. For sentient beings with little merit, it is said to recite a billion times. For sentient beings with little effort, I say to recite a million times. For sentient beings who are devoted to meditation, only a hundred thousand recitations are necessary. For sentient beings who are deeply attached to desire, how should mantras be recited? For those who are foolish and stuttering, what should be the number of mantras? How should mantras with intense focus be recited? If one recites while talking to each other like this, the accomplishment will change. If one recites with a distracted mind, even if one recites for as many kalpas as there are stars, there will be no accomplishment, so it is said. What is the accomplishment of this? It is the attainment of definite action. This is the explicit expression of the great secret of speech. Now, the great secret of mind is to be spoken, that is, abiding in the great secret of body and speech previously described, being separated from all things, aggregates, elements, sources, and sense objects, completely abandoning the grasped and the grasper, realizing the equality of the selflessness of phenomena, one's own mind being unborn from the beginning, being the nature of emptiness. This is the meaning of realization. This also follows the path of wisdom, which is the accomplishment of the Madhyamaka by the noble Nagarjuna. Those who follow the path of skillful means will accomplish the winds, channels, bindus, subtle elements, the inner vajra jewel, relying on the vidya, holding the complete, and following after. Counting, following, abiding, the characteristics then transform, and complete purification, these are six. This is remembering what is to come. Here, the uncommon is combined and accomplished from the winds. By igniting the caṇḍālī (藏文:ཙཎྜལཱི་,梵文天城体:चण्डाली,梵文罗马拟音:caṇḍālī,汉语字面意思:拙火) at the navel, the five Tathagatas are burned, and the eyes and so on are also burned. By burning, the moon descends from "Hum" (藏文:ཧཾ་,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). This is accomplished from the channels. As Kamala Arya said: The sound of the bindu is completely abandoned. So it is said. This is the accomplishment of the bindu and the subtle elements. Just as the water of a river or lotus is pure and without stain, and the moon abides in it, so should the yogi constantly contemplate the gradual dissolution within it. Also, just as wind patterns gradually appear on a mirror, so should one look. For the practice of holding the complete, the order of this practice should be carefully examined, that is, the jewel.
