It should be combined with "What is a mudra?". Jealousy is the inability to tolerate the perfect achievements of others and the desire to possess wealth oneself. Here, it refers to wanting to accomplish the deeds of the Buddha alone, without relying on others, in order to benefit beings. The nature of action, the complete purification of jealousy, is the accomplishment of meaning. In reality, it is the meaning of the Gauri jealousy mudra. Desire is the nature of being attached and infatuated with anything. To be attached to the maturation and liberation of all sentient beings, or to be attached to and not abandon the true meaning, is desire. That is the nature of the complete purification of desire, immeasurable light. In reality, it is the Vari desire mudra. Pride is the nature of arrogance, and due to realizing the equality of oneself with all Buddhas, the complete purification of pride is Ratnasambhava. That is, in reality, the Dakini holding the miserliness. Therefore, one should not rely on desire and so on, which are of the nature of afflictions in the realm of samsara. Here, understanding the antidotes such as the complete purification of the Dharmadhatu, separating from the previous nature, and generating other differences of realization, becomes the door of Dharma that transcends the world. For example, after the accomplishment of a poison mantra, the power of the poison is eliminated, and relying on the poison instead generates the power to become medicine. It is said in this way because otherwise, these are all the causes of samsara, without lacking anything, and are the very poison that leads to the lower realms. The reversal of cause and effect is inherently contradictory. It is impossible to generate completely pure wisdom and attain Buddhahood by relying on these. Therefore, if one is seized by the power of non-conceptual wisdom, like the accomplishment of a poison mantra, it will become the supreme of primordial means, otherwise it will not. Thus, the antidotes to these afflictions, and the nature of these completely purified five wisdoms, appear as the differences of the five families. Therefore, considering this, it is said: All Buddhas are born from desire, likewise they are born from ignorance and hatred.

Furthermore, the Glorious Supreme First Tantra states: Attachment, hatred, and ignorance, When clung to, transform into poison. When the poison itself is pacified, The poison is rendered non-poisonous. Thus it is said. Also, in the Jewel Heap Sutra: O Light-protector, just as poison that is completely controlled by mantras and medicine cannot cause death, O Light-protector, similarly, poison that is completely controlled by wisdom and skillful means cannot cause one to fall into wrongdoing. Thus it is said. Therefore, the pure nature of the five afflictions is what demonstrates the five Tathagatas, and this is precisely the skillful means of the Sugatas, not being accompanied by afflictions. Therefore, it is said in the tantra: Whose nature is separate and free from attachment, Yet for the sake of those to be tamed, shows wrath to the wrathful, And appears as attached to those with attachment, To that supreme abode of enlightenment, I pay homage. Thus it is said. Moreover, although the Bhagavan has reached the ultimate end of completely abandoning habitual tendencies and afflictions, yet acting according to the faculties of some disciples, such as being surrounded by a retinue of consorts and other worldly goddesses, and appearing to dwell and enjoy desires, what was the intention behind doing so? It was because gods such as the Lord of Desire and others were extremely arrogant with the pleasures of their own consorts and retinues of attendants, and they thought that there was no one more superior than themselves. In order to dispel their arrogance and introduce them to the teachings, the Tathagatas emanated goddesses possessing the four immeasurable qualities and the six perfections, and showed that they possessed pleasures of desire that were far superior to those of the gods. When they saw this, they became extremely disgusted with their own retinue and, without arrogance, developed a desire for the perfection of the Tathagatas, asking by what means they could attain these. Then, by introducing them to taking refuge in the Three Jewels and generating the mind of enlightenment, etc., they enabled them to attain those transcendent qualities. Furthermore, the Great Samaya Tantra states: Always abiding in desire.
