The so-called "purity" refers to the fact that the co-emergent one is the self-nature of all, and therefore it follows the three joys. The common bliss, which is emptiness, is what is meant by the uncommon. Or, in another way, everything is abandoned, which is to be separated from the three joys, and does not follow the special characteristics of self-awareness. It is precisely because of being separated from these special characteristics that it is said: "By this, the three are completely abandoned." Therefore, this is not an unreasonable statement. Although this has been well explained, in order to clarify the co-emergent joy, it is said "special" and so on. The first is the precursor of the special. If asked, is that the supreme joy? The answer is no, because it is said, "The three joys are completely abandoned." This refers to the sequel of the supreme joy. It will be explained that in the sixteenth chapter: "Supreme edge special, the first is in the middle." It means that, relative to the edge of the supreme joy and the special joy, it is called being in the middle. It will be clearly shown in the thirteenth chapter: the self-nature of co-emergent joy. Supreme edge special is the precursor. All of these will show that the edge of the supreme joy is the edge of extreme union. The special joy arises after that, and is called differentiation. Between these two, the wisdom of the main body is the bliss of no object, no elaboration, which is the co-emergent joy. Therefore, by meditating on the co-emergent joy that truly symbolizes, the four samadhis that appear like clouds, like illusions, like dreams, like sleep, and like awakening will gradually manifest. To this, it is said in verse form: "The first" and so on. As long as one meditates with the correct yoga that includes meditation, and the co-emergent joy does not manifest, then this will appear like a cloud, meaning that it appears like a moon obscured by thin clouds. When it manifests, it will be accomplished.

If accomplished, it appears like an illusion, manifested by the power of wisdom through mental projection. After that, it appears like a dream immediately following. By combining practice, abandoning meditation, and meditating solely according to the instructions, if one enters the sleep of yoga, yogis will immediately make it manifest. After that, dream and wakefulness appear indistinguishable, hence the meaning of dream and wakefulness being inseparable. How is it inseparable from wakefulness? Because the nature of the two bodies fully operates, and piercing them separately, etc., will occur. How is it no different from a dream? Because all that exists is also merely invisible, and by meditating on co-emergence, it will manifest. Thus, with the four samadhis perfected, if one wonders how a yogi becomes accomplished, it is said, 'Inseparability,' etc. Inseparability is when dream and wakefulness are indistinguishable, then its characteristic is to meditate on co-emergence.
