How are they bound? Because this binds, it is binding, and existence itself is binding. So, is it suffering? It is said: "Liberation transforms," and so on. To fully know its aggregates, actions, afflictions, and so on, with complete and ultimate wisdom, is to know them as illusions and mirages, and so on. Because of this, being entangled by the manifest clinging to grasping and so on, it becomes a binding in this way. It itself is the cause of suffering, and manifest clinging or entanglement itself is nirvana, so it itself is the cause of happiness. Similarly, it is said: "The thick darkness of conceptual thought manifestly suppresses, Covered by the difficult-to-reverse stains of desire and so on, Moved by the fiercely scattered wind, like lightning it trembles, The mind is samsara, as declared by the Vajra Holder." "Liberated from conceptual thought and luminous, The obscurations of stains such as desire are completely abandoned, If there is no grasper and no grasped, then that itself is, The meaning of nirvana, as spoken by the supreme being." Therefore, that which becomes the cause of a multitude of sufferings, There is nothing else other than this. Your immeasurable happiness, noble one who desires liberation, There is no other cause of birth other than this. Having donned the armor to exhaust all suffering, Those who desire to attain the supreme bliss of the perfect Buddha, Stabilize the mind and strive for this, examining it, May its nature become my own nature. The minds of sentient beings, as long as they are entangled by the thick cloth of darkness of unknowing, That is always immeasurable suffering, and then if it is always being peeled away, That is always vast and incomparable bliss, therefore, noble one, strive diligently for this. When that is exhausted, abide in that itself, and the qualities will naturally appear in abundance." So it is said. Or, what is the difference between things that are bound by things themselves, and things that are liberated by things themselves? It is said: So-called "liberation" and so on. To fully know is the completely pure wisdom that possesses the nature of conventional and ultimate truth. Therefore, it is liberation. And for what is it pure?
