俱生(lhan cig skyes pa)即非有,非无,非常,非断,亦已断灭舍弃与取舍等二者,故蕴等亦已断灭有无等自性。此偈颂乃九字四句。宣说此之义广释云:世尊等。世尊开示,嘿 Vajra(ཀྱེ་རྡོ་རྗེ།),即具足方便与智慧自性之金刚持。

Coemergent (lhan cig skyes pa) is neither existent nor nonexistent, neither permanent nor impermanent, and has eliminated both abandonment and acceptance, etc. Therefore, the aggregates, etc., have also abandoned the nature of existence and nonexistence, etc. This verse is also a four-line verse of nine syllables. Explaining the meaning of this in detail, it is said: "Bhagavan," etc. The Bhagavan declared, "Hey Vajra (kye rdo rje)," which is the Vajradhara who possesses the nature of skillful means and wisdom. "The body of all Buddhas is one," which means that all Buddhas, such as Vairochana, are one. "The indivisible body is like that," meaning it is the same. What is said? It is said: "Doubt," etc. "Good to dispel doubt" means that there are two doubts: "Coemergent is not perfect enlightenment," and "That should be dispelled," such words. "Vajra essence" means at that time. "For the sake of realization" means for the sake of definitely ascertaining the coemergent as one. Therefore, it is also a good word. Now, the words of the Bhagavan will be shown: "Without desire," etc. That meaning is repeated. By the reasoning of relying on a different meaning, the fault of repeating the verse by half is eliminated. "Because of abandoning the three" means that by abandoning desire, joy and supreme joy are abandoned. By abandoning detachment from desire, detachment from joy is abandoned. Abandoning the cultivation of both desire and detachment from desire is the nine-syllable phrase of coemergent enlightenment. "Speaking" means that these are merely words, but in ultimate truth, coemergent enlightenment is beyond the realm of speech. If asked how to represent the coemergent, it is said: "Detachment from joy first," etc. Detachment from joy is also that, and first is also that, so detachment from joy is first, which means to represent it there, meaning that making detachment from joy first is representation. The rest is easy to understand. "The first is like a cloud." The so-called first is the mandala of wisdom, which means that what appears is connected to being like a cloud.

Just as clouds reside in the sky, there is not even a little bit of object to be fixated upon. Similarly, the mandala of wisdom, in the very moment of appearance, is truly free from one and many, and so forth, and therefore, in the ultimate sense, there is no object to be fixated upon. What is it established by? It is said: The word "established" refers to that which is co-emergent, because it is established by its own nature. The word "itself" refers to distinction, meaning that the co-emergent, having become stable, is the vessel of the nature of the mandala having become distinct. Having spoken of the example of abiding in non-abiding yoga, the example of illusion is spoken of, that is, "like an illusion," and so forth. Because it is similar to the wisdom of illusion, it is like an illusion. That is, just as when a magician conjures up a multitude of elephants and horses, to the wisdom of the magician's conjuration, it appears as not being true. Similarly, for the yogi in whom the co-emergent has become manifest, the mandala of wisdom will arise. The example of a dream is spoken of: "Like a dream" refers to a moment, that is, by the power of the wisdom of a moment. What is called a dream is like the wisdom that appears as real in a dream, just as in a dream, those with desire and so forth appear as meaningless. Similarly, this appearance of the co-emergent mandala is also like that. In order to clarify its meaning, (it is said:) "Dreaming and waking are indistinguishable." What is called a dream is because of sleeping and turning over, therefore it is called a dream. The dream of sleeping and turning over and the wisdom of waking are indistinguishable, that is, the wisdom that does not distinguish waking. That which is similar to the wisdom that does not distinguish waking is like that which does not distinguish waking. Its meaning is this: Such wisdom as distinguishing and differentiating, such as, "Am I sleeping? Am I dreaming? Am I awake?" will not arise from the yogi. Or rather, fixation on objects is neither true nor false, that is its meaning. Similarly, the co-emergent mandala of wisdom is also like that. Because of what reason, the thought that there is no meditation on the mandala there will not arise in the yogi. Similarly, there is no fixation on distinguishing the mandala. Therefore, that itself will be explained, just like a dream, just like an illusion.
