Saying "thus spoken by the departed one" is the answer. The eye apprehends forms. The ear listens to sounds. The nose smells odors. The tongue experiences tastes. All things are touched. Thus it is said. Children, engaging with objects as objects and possessors of objects, as self and belonging to self, and as pleasure and suffering, are impure. But the skilled yogi engages with them through skillful means, and thus is pure. Thus, all pleasure and suffering are, from the very beginning, empty and devoid of inherent nature. Whoever knows this is purified, which is the definitive meaning. Therefore, those who have obtained pleasure and the like through the mind, having made them stainless through purity, should cultivate these things that are to be cultivated. For this, skilled yogis and those of childish nature rely on the two truths in this order. Skilled yogis also do not abandon the twelve examples of illusion and the wheel of vows, the conventional truth. Just as each is tamed, so the wheel of the mandala is shown. Likewise, the first action is to grasp at self and what belongs to self. For example, abandoning grasping at lineage, family, wealth, and descendants. The so-called vajra lineage abides in the seven conventional empowerments, in order to gradually turn away from the thoughts of clean and unclean. The four lineages can interact with each other, and kula and other foods can be eaten in common, and one should proceed with those who are and are not of the same lineage, and one should dwell together with mothers and sisters, etc., so that one turns away from the grosser thoughts of ordinary people. Therefore, the vajra lineage obtains its name through the seven empowerments. Therefore, we should regard the aggregates, elements, sense bases, faculties, elements, and whatever arises from the elements, as well as the actions of karma and the faculties of karma, as deities, and not regard them as something else. Thus, for the yogis who are beginners in action, the form aggregate is not vajra, feeling is also called white, and perception is water.
