Among castes, the Kshatriyas are killed; among the Marus, the royal caste; among the ascetics, the commoner caste. Such as these, considering worldly affairs as Dharma. In your teachings, this is slander. Saying this means that in the teachings of the Sugata, these are slanderous. As it is said, 'The ripening result of the act of killing is that sentient beings go to hell,' and so on, extensively explained. To this, someone might think: 'Merely killing in general is not Dharma, but killing during a sacrifice with a complete ritual originating from the Vedas is Dharma.' If one thinks like this, it is not so. What is Dharma? Whatever is always harmful to living beings, whether it originates from the Vedas or is spoken by a sage, even during a sacrifice, how can such an act have the nature of Dharma? There is no such thing. Why? Dharma is that which protects from falling into the lower realms or transfers and gives happiness, hence it is called Dharma (梵文:Dharma,梵文罗马拟音:Dharma,汉语字面意思:法). But sacrifices involving killing people, etc., are the opposite of that. Why? Because it harms others, like the actions of a Chandalas. Likewise, when the sage extensively praised sacrifices, his son Nitschö said: 'Having erected a sacrificial pillar and slaughtered livestock, having made mud with blood, if this also leads to rebirth in the heavens, then by what actions does one fall into hell?' Thus he spoke. Therefore, O Chief, let alone harming others, you should protect sentient beings well with your own life, as exemplified in the Jataka tales of the elephant king and so on. If the ritual of sacrifice cannot be considered Dharma, then what is the non-inverted Dharma? Please tell us. The answer is: 'You, born into the Shakya royal lineage,' and so on. Shakya is mentioned as the leader of all the clans on the side of householders. Starting from 'respected by many kings,' after one million, one ten thousand, nine thousand, four hundred, and eighty-nine royal lineages had passed, in the city called Dhruvajit, appeared a noble being called King Ikshvaku. He had five sons: Star Dart Face, Elephant Tamer in Hand.

The one with anklets, may the kingdom be happy. At that time, its four branches seized the city of Kapilavastu (ser skya), and because it was very brave, it was called Shakya. Because it is its descendant, it is the Shakya royal family. Being born there is taking birth intentionally. Truth is not changing one's own nature. Non-deception is to generate trust in those who enter. Pure conduct is closing the doors of the senses. Subduing is pacifying signs and discriminations. Loving-kindness is to benefit others, and such behavior is your sacred Dharma, please understand it that way. Non-harming means not causing harm. Being versed in all the Vedas, knowing all the Vedas is vastness and so on. Those are also battlefields, saying that if enemies come to the battlefield, they should be killed. That is also like what was said earlier: Killing in the battlefield when angry. The Sugata, you said that even to enemies, only compassion should be shown, and the Jataka tale of the Kshanti sage can be used as an example. The young man said to his uncle, etc., and heard from the previous life story of the one who dries up: There are two sons of the snowy mountain, called Fish and Durbha. Mount Durbha is very pleasant, even surpassing Mount Sumeru and being more prominent, and because of jealousy, it does not provide opportunities for any accomplished ones. Then, the accomplished gods thought: When will we be able to live there and enjoy the pleasures of desire? They became desirous. The young man went to the one who praised Mount Tise (ri bo ti se, Mount Kailash) and lived there and prayed: In any case, please let us enjoy the pleasures of desire with our wives on Mount Durbha. The young man thought: Rejecting the prayers of others is more shameful than discarding an axe. Therefore, now I must strive to accomplish this. Thinking, he went to Mount Durbha and prayed with great respect: Durbha, please be sure to fulfill one thing I ask. He said: What is it? The young man said: For the sake of the accomplished ones gaining opportunities, please be compassionate.

Saying "Charge!", immediately after speaking, his face, arrogant with anger, was covered with angry wrinkles. Saying "I will not give anyone a chance." The youth made various efforts, but the matter was not accomplished. At that time, he began to fight with him. When the goddess Uma heard these words, she was filled with the suffering of fearing that her son would be harmed, and she rested her hand on her cheek, dwelling in sorrow. Thinking, "Will such a conflict not disturb the entire three realms?" Mount Tise (Mount Kailash), Mount Sahya, Mount Bhiksha, Mount Malaya, and other mountains also went there and spoke, but were unable to quell the dispute. Then, the youth was disturbed by the demon of anger, and without carefully considering with his angry mind, he threw a spear, thinking, "This can destroy it." The angry youth struck the Durpa mountain, which had become two pieces, in that way. That mountain became a huge valley, and there, the Vidyadhara accomplished ones, together with their wives, freely enjoyed the pleasure they desired. The youth refers to Kartika. One's own maternal uncle refers to Durpa mountain, that is, the mother's brother. With what was it struck? It is said with a spear, that is, with a single-pointed spear. Struck means it was made into two pieces. It is said that "there is teaching" means hearing the circulated saying. Great hero refers to Bodhisattva, because he possesses great courage, therefore he is a great hero. You refers to Bhagavan. The net of afflictions refers to those to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, meaning the collection of habitual tendencies. If asked, what did that collection of afflictions do? It is said "destroyed", meaning completely destroyed, broken, and abandoned. With what was it destroyed and exhausted? It is said with the sword of wisdom, meaning the spear of wisdom. That is to say, the Bhagavan once said, "The mind like lightning, the samadhi like a vajra, killed all the collections of afflictions." The Isvara gods and their own. And so on, their own palace.
