That treatise endowed with four qualities should be accepted with reverence, just like the words of the great sage, the perfectly enlightened Buddha. So it is said. There are three ways to abandon harm to the Dharma: advising to rely on the means of purification by identifying them, advising to abandon the causes of decline by identifying them, and abandoning the consequences of the decline of the profound Dharma. Regarding the way to rely on the means of purification (201), the way to abandon self-fabrication is: Because there is no one more wise than the victorious, perfectly enlightened Buddha in this world. All knowable things without exception, and the ultimate reality of suchness, are known by the wisdom that directly knows all aspects correctly and without reversal. Since no one other than the Buddha knows, therefore, the great sage, the victorious one himself, said that the sutras that are established as requiring interpretation and not requiring interpretation should not be confused by self-fabrication, nor should they be wrongly explained by saying that what requires interpretation does not require interpretation, and what does not require interpretation requires interpretation. If this is done, it will destroy the excellent Dharma of the fully enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni, and it will harm the excellent Dharma and become a great sin of abandoning the Dharma. So it is said. The way to abandon bias is: Evil people whose minds are always obscured by afflictions such as ignorance commit sins such as slandering the Buddhas and other noble beings, and despising the excellent Dharma that they have well spoken, all of which are caused by views that are extremely attached to their own evil tenets. Moreover, since they are afflicted by various sufferings, therefore, wise people should never combine their intelligence with the afflictions that are tainted with the bias of evil views. If they do, there will be the fault of being unable to change their minds about correct (202) views and conduct. For example, a clean, spotless cloth can be dyed with colors, but a dirty cloth that is soaked in oil is not like that. So it is said. The way to abandon the causes of decline is: Thus,

If the ultimate essence of the profound Dharma is extremely profound and possesses great benefits, why do some people not believe in it and completely abandon it? This is to say that it is not the fault of the Dharma, but the fault of the person. That is, some people abandon the true Dharma because they lack the wisdom to discern the profound meaning and their intelligence is extremely low, so it should be understood in this way. Some people do not believe in and stay away from the white virtuous Dharma because their increasing wisdom has not become clear. Some people are arrogant and rely on false pride because they think they have virtues when they do not. Some people have accumulated karmic obscurations in previous lives that lead to a lack of true Dharma, which is very serious, so they are the nature of obscuring the true meaning. Some people cling to the definitive meaning of all dharmas in the sutras of provisional meaning, which is inverted and confused. Some people are particularly greedy and crave for the attainment of worldly pleasures such as food, clothing, and wealth, and are controlled by them. Some people are extremely attached to evil views such as the view of the perishable collection, and are controlled by them. Some people slander and completely abandon the profound and vast true Dharma, rely on evil friends for a long time, and are controlled by them. Some people also keep away from the virtuous friends and holy beings who hold the Mahayana Dharma for a long time. Some people do not believe in the correct Dharma and people, and like to be inverted and confused, because their faith and understanding are inferior, so they abandon the true Dharma of the Tathagata Arhat. In particular, those who abandon those who proclaim the profound truth. Even so, this is the cause of one's own decline, so wise people should not do this. The above is what is said. Regarding the method of abandoning the fruits of falling away from the Dharma, there are two. Among them, the method of abandoning the evil realms is: if it is so terrible to fall away from the extremely profound true Dharma, then the holy beings who understand what to take and what to abandon,
