It is clearly shown from (the previous discussion). Especially in the Sutra of the Ten Wheels of Ksitigarbha, after elaborating on this method, (the sutra says) "How is it? Saying that the extremely difficult to tame mind is because it is no different from the wind. Therefore, the so-called mind is the wind." Thus it is said. The second method of grasping is to relax the non-conceptual (mind), both wind and mind are naturally relaxed, so that Shamatha and Vipassana can arise, which is said in the actual practice of gathering. The third method of grasping is to grasp after distinguishing colors and shapes. That is, use the color of the wind of the five wheels (344) mentioned above to grasp the mind and keep it focused, so that a clear appearance can arise. Then mix it with earth and so on to meditate, and finally the Samadhi of Earth and so on can arise. Grasping with shape is to focus on the Alaya Consciousness in the heart, like a spotless moon, so that a clear appearance can arise. Then mix it with the minds of others to meditate, and the five supernatural powers such as telepathy can arise. The fourth method of grasping is Kumbhaka. That is, the place where the upper Prana Vayu is bound is the navel wheel, the place where the lower Apana Vayu is bound is the secret place, and the place where the two winds are fused in the middle is the fire below the navel. For this Kumbhaka, there are also "Inhaling, filling, pressing, shooting like an arrow, there are four kinds. If you don't know the four combinations, merits will also turn into faults." Practitioners say this. In this way, through these grasping methods, the root winds can be grasped. Relying on the Lion Liberation (method), and the method of binding the winds with limbs, the root and (345) branch winds can be firmly achieved. Then it is possible to carry out all activities such as pacifying. Third, explain the benefits. There are eight kinds of benefits: Sun, Moon, Rahu, the three main deities, eliminating the three poisons and distractions, and obtaining the three Vajra bodies. This is the merit of the sun. The five objects of form, sound, smell, taste and touch, the wind of the moon is free. This is the purification of the grasper and the grasped. Stable, moist, clear and fast, pure and with great wisdom, these are the merits of earth and so on on the body. Thus it is said.

Since the root of all winds is the method and wisdom of the sun and moon, the benefits are also the eight qualities of the sun and moon. Having briefly stated this, the explanation in detail is as follows: First, the wind above relies on the three main channels of the sun, moon, and Rahu. Since wind is life, it is the nature of the sun. The main qualities of this are the three: dust, darkness, and courage, which arise below the navel. If we consider the function of these as being freed from bonds, then the conceptualizations of the three poisons are destroyed. By not binding the left channel, desire is destroyed; by not binding the right channel, hatred is destroyed; by not binding the central (346) channel, ignorance is destroyed. If we consider it from the perspective of realization, then by binding the function of the left channel, one obtains the body vajra; by the binding of the right channel, one obtains the speech vajra; by the binding of the central channel, one obtains the mind vajra. Obtaining the three vajras is said to be the quality of the sun. The wind that relies on the three channels below, from which excrement, urine, and semen flow, is the downward-clearing wind, and is therefore the nature of the moon. However, its qualities are form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, which control the five objects of sense, and arise above the navel. If we consider the function of the lunar wind from the perspective of being bound and freed, then it purifies the eight aspects of grasping and apprehended, in which the five senses, such as the eyes, engage with the five objects, such as forms. If we consider it from the perspective of realization, then one obtains the ultimate five wisdoms. The temporary qualities are that the earth wind stabilizes the body, the water wind moistens it, the fire wind illuminates it, the wind of wind makes it swift, and the space wind purifies the senses and increases wisdom, and so on. This is the explanation of the qualities of the five winds, such as earth, abiding in the body. Fifth, the explanation of how all of samsara and nirvana are the nature of wind (347): In short, wind is conceptualization. It is moving, subtle, and causes others to move. The nature of mind is clear and non-conceptual. Its essence is the great wind of wisdom. The antidote is the great wind of wisdom, which is the activity of correct conceptualization. The afflicted mind abiding in the alaya is said to be the wind that generates ignorance. The formations, the appearance aspect of wisdom, are called the wind of attachment to other conceptualizations. The discriminating consciousness is the wind of judging what to accept and reject. It is the wind of hatred, and from it, the three realms are called the activity of wind. Thus it is said, all faults and qualities.
