The cause and condition for becoming a Buddha is said to be skillful means and wisdom. As long as one relies on skillful means, it is like mixing alcohol and poison, leading to death. Therefore, self-born skillful means are not needed. That is said. Secondly, establishing the way of abiding by the nature of the fruit itself: From the three sutras, extensive, intermediate, and concise: First: Such a basis is shown as the union of emptiness and clarity. The basis is the emptiness of objects, free from all elaborations, or the mere clarity and awareness of mind, not falling into any extreme. In the Uttaratantra, which clearly shows Yeshe (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ज्ञान, Sanskrit Romanization: jñāna, Chinese literal meaning: wisdom): Listen to the explanation of emptiness, clarity, and awareness. The basis itself is emptiness and clarity. Not realizing this is delusion. Therefore, grasp the nature of emptiness and clarity. That is said. In the second: By introducing the way of abiding in its own nature, the darkness of outward scattering and loss of essence is dispelled. By extensively explaining its three aspects, certainty about the three bodies is bestowed, there are two: First: It is not looking outward and not seeing anything anywhere, but the way of abiding of the mind, spontaneously accomplished in its natural state. In the Guhyagarbha Tantra: It is the present awareness, therefore its meaning resides in everything, the supreme without arising, ceasing, or separation, having the ability to recognize without acceptance or rejection, without defects, everything is without. Therefore, the fruit is accomplished at this time, it is the nature of one's own mind, determine that it is incomparable. That is said. In the second: Explain separately, the meaning is summarized into two. The first is to explain the nature of the three as emptiness: The Dharmakaya does not arise from causes but exists within oneself, explained with self-nature clarity. The Sambhogakaya does not arise from causes but exists within oneself, explained with great compassion pervading all. The Nirmanakaya does not arise from causes but exists within oneself, bestowing certainty about this. First: That is also beyond all the edges of elaboration, one's own awareness is not influenced by good or bad, therefore the Buddha has a good side, hells and so on have a bad side, it is not like that, but it is the great primordial existence of equality pervading all. Abiding in this way should be known as the Dharmakaya, originally pure and free from elaboration. In the "Vast Expanse of Space": Not beginning, not ending, from this present awareness, nothing has become good. And in the Guhyagarbha Tantra: The essence of the Buddha, the Dharmakaya, in all sentient beings of the six realms, has the nature of self-born wisdom.

Like the all-pervading sky, it is said. From the Sky Thunder Sutra: All phenomena are the mind's delusion, there is no phenomena beyond actionless thought, the mind becomes empty in the primordial purity. It is said. Therefore, from the perspective of the reverse aspect of primordial purity, the self-arisen wisdom of mind-essence is: The great spontaneously perfect emptiness, without cause, without condition, without change, without any thing, without example, uniquely without peer, without color, without shape, without direction, without inside or outside. Therefore, from the Sky Burning Sutra: Self-nature is empty and spontaneously perfect, self-nature is without cause or condition, self-nature is without change, self-nature is without anything, self-nature is without substance, the mind has no example, no peer, no establishment, no emptiness, clarity, no substance, no color, no shape, unborn primordial purity has no direction or boundary, insubstantial emptiness has no support, unfathomable depth is boundless. It is said. Second, the manner of the Sambhogakaya, the spontaneously perfect body and the wisdom of profound clarity: All the qualities such as body and wisdom, light and bindus, are spontaneously present in the mind-essence from the beginning, so they do not need to be generated by the two accumulations. From the Definitive Meaning Compendium: Realizing the meaning of unborn self-arising, is superior to accumulating two accumulations, therefore accumulating accumulations is like play, provisional meaning accumulating accumulations is the cause of distraction, the Form Kaya does not arise from the two accumulations, therefore if the Dharmakaya is realized, the Form Kaya is perfected without accumulating accumulations, therefore there is a result without a cause. Now listen again to the retinue of the Compendium, the essence is one without difference, like the face and the image in the mirror, the Dharmakaya's own power manifests the two Form Kayas, without accumulating accumulations it is naturally present, although the three Kayas have different purposes, therefore the Dharmakaya's own power, manifests all kinds of appearances, just that alone is free from cause and condition. It is said. From the Great Self-Arisen: In the self-continuum of all sentient beings, the true Buddha's intention, abides in the manner of body and wisdom. It is said. Third, the nature of the Nirmanakaya, the all-pervading compassion: Such a union of two truths, the nature of awareness, Bodhicitta pervades all, therefore the self-power of knowledge and the four powers of wisdom are also spontaneously accomplished. From the Consequence:
