Without cessation, also recognize the face of the emanation body, thus holding the three bodies in mind. (End of quote.) Fourth, regarding the distinction between reality and non-reality as in the most secret (teachings): There are two aspects: settling into the natural state and returning to the original state. The first is: From the *Thal 'gyur*: "At this time, the key points of body, speech, and mind, should be settled into the natural state by those who possess yoga." This means that by distinguishing between reality and non-reality of samsara and nirvana through the three doors, it is for the sake of pacifying the disturbance of the elements of the body in their own place, and for the sake of settling the original, unfabricated nature into its natural state. Therefore, it is called "settling into the natural state." How is it settled? It is by letting go of nine activities and abandoning burdens. From the *Rab 'byams*: "Thus, let go of nine activities: external activities of the body such as walking and sitting, internal activities such as prostrations and circumambulations, and secret activities such as abandoning trul khor yoga; external activities of speech such as idle talk, internal activities such as recitations, and secret activities such as abandoning deity recitations; external activities of mind such as distracting thoughts, internal activities such as deity meditation, and secret activities such as meditating without thought. Thus, let go of these three, three, and nine activities." And from the *Klong gsal*: "The elements of body, speech, and mind are disturbed, settle them into the natural state for the sake of liberation." Thus, by letting go of nine activities, it is like letting muddy water settle on its own and become clear. This key point causes the three doors to become clear on the ground of the base, which is extremely profound. Returning to the original state is: From the *Klong gsal*: "For the sake of realizing the meaning of primordial purity." As it is said, previously, by settling into the natural state, the nature of mind abides in the state of clarity and emptiness without grasping. That itself is for the sake of learning to become accustomed through the guidance of the three types of conduct: peaceful, forceful, and intermediate. How is it learned? From the *'Das rjes*: "The Shravakas, Bodhisattvas, and Wrathful Ones, also return to the original state by means of their own way of looking. Therefore, the three are restored to their original state, and they become diligent in their own practice." As it is said, first, the way of looking of the Shravakas is: the body is in the state of being endowed with the seven dharmas of Vairochana, speech abandons all speech and words, and the breath is settled into its natural, pure state. The mind does not scatter outward or gather inward, and is settled in the state of non-conceptualization, not thinking or speaking, not abiding in anything. Here, if one does not meditate, otherwise one needs the seven dharmas of Vairochana, as it is said in all the sutras and tantras, and although it has become a common saying among the great meditators, the way of enumerating them is not reliable or certain, so they proclaim various kinds of noises. Here it is...

The view of the tantras has been established as something that can be analyzed. As it says in the 'Vast Expanse': 'On a cushion with an inner lining, sit in the vajra posture with legs crossed1, place both hands in the mudra of equipoise2, straighten the body like an arrow shaft3, spread the shoulders like the wings of a vulture4, bend the neck like a bow5, raise the torso like a banner6, align the eyes and the tip of the nose with the tip of the mind7.' Also, as it says in the 'Clear Expanse': 'With the view of the Shravaka's peace, bring the three doors of body, speech, and mind into their natural state. The body relies on the seven-point posture of Vairochana, the hands in the mudra of equipoise1, sit in the crossed-legged posture2, straighten the spine3, bend the throat4, raise the neck5, remain still without moving. As for speech, cut off the stream of speech, do not make any sound. As for the mind, do not scatter or gather, fix both eyes on the tip of the nose6, and fix the nose on the tip of the mind7, concentrate them into one and rest in equanimity. Thus, with the view of the Shravaka's peace, bring the three doors of body, speech, and mind into their natural state, this is the correct method of meditation.' This is a guideline established so that later practitioners do not stray from the essential points. Second, abiding in the posture of a Bodhisattva: From that posture, gaze upwards into space with wide-open eyes, and with the clear and unobstructed nature of mind, the vipashyana that is the indivisibility of appearance and emptiness arises, as it says in the 'Clear Expanse': 'With the view of a Bodhisattva, one will attain the very bliss of naturalness.' Third, without losing the state of the wrathful-peaceful union samadhi, stand up, take wide steps, fix the eyes on the sky like a spear or look around while moving, without thinking anything in the mind, exert effort in awareness, and by training in the state of self-arising and self-liberation without acceptance or rejection, the appearance of circumstances does not stain the awareness, and it brings forth the power of the wisdom of emptiness that is born liberated, as it says in that very text: 'With the view of the wrathful one, one will also accomplish three qualities.' One should train as it says. Sixth, the fault of not training in the necessary taming, and the qualities of training: First, as it says in the second 'Last Testament of the Buddha': 'Emaho! Son of lineage, because the body is not tamed, the body will revert to three states, therefore one should be skilled in taming the body. If speech is not tamed, speech will revert to three states.'
