Therefore, due to clinging to the three—light, awareness, and dharmata—understanding them, naming them, grasping their meaning, and viewing them as real, delusion arises. The objective condition is the various self-manifestations of light and the grasping aspects of consciousness. Therefore, appearances depend on time, and because the arising of light is not recognized, clinging arises there, becoming the source of pride in self-grasping, thus causing various external and internal conditions without ultimate results. These are also as stated in the earlier tantra of the 'Vast Expanse of Clarity': 'Conditions are threefold: self-condition, other-condition, and objective condition.' Furthermore, the dharmata (ཆོས༵་ཉིད༵,dharma-tā,达磨达,法性) of samsara and nirvana, which is of one essence, the co-emergent three dharmas that pervade everywhere, the play without separation, the spontaneously accomplished (ལྷུན༵་གྲུབ༵,lhundrub,隆竹,任运成就) ground appearance, is obscured by ignorance, and the various fruits of delusion become the cause of many delusions, like the white conch shell caused by yellow. These are also as stated in the 'Refutation': 'The single essence, without separation, is the root; because it is not recognized as one's own nature, this is the beginning of samsara.' This is its intention. From this, the way of explanation and the sequence of words in the tantras, other than the emptiness of the essence, are enlightening. The self-manifestation of the light of self-nature is made into the causal condition. Although the objective condition, the clinging to the grasping and the grasped, is slightly different from the quotations of the 'Vast Expanse', because the light manifestation is the self-radiance or the fruit of dharmata, the essence is the same. And the key is that ignorance itself is the initial cause of the causal condition of samsara, so there is no contradiction in considering any of the three as the causal condition. Therefore, the later 'Vast Expanse of Clarity' says: 'The condition of the cause is spontaneous accomplishment; the condition of the object is light itself; the condition of the lord is compassion; because these three are simultaneously equal, equality is the immediately preceding condition.' And in the 'Longchen Rabjam' it says: 'The condition of the cause is dharmata (ཆོས༵་ཉིད༵,dharma-tā,达磨达,法性); the condition of the object is light itself; the condition of the lord is awareness itself; when these three are simultaneously equal, delusion is the immediately preceding condition.' And in the 'Tashi Dzeden' it says: 'Clinging to the condition that has the cause as the object causes delusion to become the cause of various fruits; clinging to the lord's condition that has the object causes delusion to become various names; clinging to the objective condition that has mind causes delusion to have endless results.' The immediately preceding clinging

It says: Through various causes, one is mistaken in various appearances. These are stated in the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror Tantra: The ground exists in the form of light, which is called the causal condition, which is actual ignorance. When it goes into conceptualization, it is the condition of the lord. When it is grasped as object and subject, it is called the objective condition, like the appearance of a person's face in a mirror. These three occurring simultaneously are called the immediately preceding condition. As it is said. Because the three causes, the objective condition, and the lord condition, occur simultaneously, they cause the continuous arising of various mistaken appearances, so they are called the immediately preceding condition. As it is said in Adornment: Not knowing that the non-dual appearance arises spontaneously, grasping at the mistakenness as the lord is the condition of the lord. Not knowing that self-awareness is the fruit of self-knowing, grasping the cause itself as dependent is the causal condition. Not knowing that objects and consciousness are empty, grasping at the object as an object is the condition of the object's own nature. Not knowing that light arises in dependence on time, the consciousness that grasps what is not that as that arises, is the immediately preceding condition. So it is. Third, from that, explaining the actual delusion, there are two aspects: when does delusion occur, and how does delusion occur? First, the time of delusion of these three causes and four conditions is: from the two grasps of knowledge and ignorance, whichever of the spontaneously accomplished eight gates appears on the object, that is the time of liberation and delusion, so it is certain at the dividing line of samsara and nirvana. Therefore, for sentient beings, delusion occurs from the arising of the two grasps of ignorance, when one grasps at the spontaneously accomplished gate as self, etc. Thus, Longchen Rabjam says: The time of delusion is as follows: The two grasps of knowledge and ignorance, when the dharmata appears on the object, delusion occurs. When the six consciousnesses engage with the object, delusion occurs. When conceptual thought grasps as self, delusion occurs. When appearances are separately analyzed, delusion occurs. When pride is scattered outward into categories, delusion occurs. When one's own ability is grasped as other, delusion occurs. When the mind fabricates, delusion occurs. When self and other are divided into two, delusion occurs. When wrong thoughts flow for a moment, delusion occurs. When one looks at the heaviness of grasping and being grasped, delusion occurs. When there is doubt about whether it is or is not, delusion occurs. When intelligence tries to search, delusion occurs. When one grasps what is not as being, delusion occurs. So it is,
